Russia Considers Returning Snowden to U.S. to ‘Curry Favor’ With Trump: Official
NBC ^

Posted on 02/10/2017 4:41:03 PM PST by springwater13

U.S. intelligence has collected information that Russia is considering turning over Edward Snowden as a "gift" to President Donald Trump — who has called the NSA leaker a "spy" and a "traitor" who deserves to be executed.

That's according to a senior U.S. official who has analyzed a series of highly sensitive intelligence reports detailing Russian deliberations and who says a Snowden handover is one of various ploys to "curry favor" with Trump. A second source in the intelligence community confirms the intelligence about the Russian conversations and notes it has been gathered since the inauguration.

Snowden's ACLU lawyer, Ben Wizner, told NBC News they are unaware of any plans that would send him back to the United States.

"Team Snowden has received no such signals and has no new reason for concern," Wizner said.

If Snowden is turned over and Trump prosecutes him I’ll vomit.

Edward Showden has always been a weird duck as far as espionage. it could be that Showden has only been partial co-operative or is perceived partial co-operative and this is only a squeeze on him for more info that he might or might not have. I find it highly doubtful that Edward showden will ever leave Russia.

They don’t call him Vlad the Impaler for nothing.
That would be some chess move. There’s no clear conclusion on what if anything Snowden gave Russia.

He took an enormous amount of documents and they are “residing” somewhere.
If Pukey decides he is of no use to them and it’s worth a chip with Trump as part of their objectives; well then Snowden will be taken to a plane and that’s that.

How is returning a Russian spy with a ballerina girlfriend currying FAVOR?

Honey-trap ballerina.. It's so textbook it's nauseating.

Have you seen he tweets since Trump entered office? Snowden has become the SJW, Trump-bashing punk. I can understand the libertarians applauding his actions, but what he did was nonetheless illegal. And immoral as he swore to protect the highly-classified information he was entrusted with. If he is so committed to the action he took, he should then accept the punishment.

His girlfriend is an American girl, from Maryland. Honey trap? Was she a spy working for Baltimore?

All the makings of fake news, especially when US Intelligence sources are being quoted by NBC. It’s like Joseph Goebbels quoting Hitler.

“And immoral as he swore to protect the highly-classified information he was entrusted with. If he is so committed to the action he took, he should then accept the punishment”

The NSA was conducting fully illegal domestic spying. Nobody is under the slightest obligation to protect illegal acts simply because they got classified. Crime gets no protection by being classified. Hillary classified all of her crimes.

As for “accepting his punishment”, that’s a steaming pantload. It makes no sense that he should turn himself over to the very criminals he exposed, so they can then do whatever they please to him. Why should he go sit out a sentence of decades or even life in solitary just to prove something to you? What kind of weird Japanese bushido self destructive crap is that? If he commits seppuku, then we know he was sincere? Nuts.

Me? I hope he has a nice day today, has two hot girls on his arms, and gets a fantastic view of the northern lights tonight as he is sipping some nice Russian hot tea, as he’s planning a summer kayak trip on Lake Baikal.

I don’t care what her official story is, YES I am contending she was RECRUITED by Russia before Snowden was. The ballerina who was out of Snowden’s league was probably surrounded by Russian ballerinas throughout her career.

It’s a pretty good theory. The other some what believable one is Snowden was sent in by the CIA to discredit the NSA. They might have given him the help he needed to flee the country.

Ditto and bump.

And I would bet that Snowden has the goods on the nefarious workings of a Mr. Soros. Though apparently Soros is in favor of pardoning Snowden, but this looks like a smoke screen. Snowden exposed US government surveillance on American citizens, something that Soros would wholly endorse.

This information comes from “a senior U.S. official who has analyzed a series of highly sensitive intelligence reports” and a “second source in the intelligence community.” Sounds pretty official.
