Your name is not one that just jumps at me and says “this is a famous US Athlete”, so it really doesn’t matter how much “Bling” you have. Or did you try to USE that when talking to the Customs Officer?
Were you traveling with your US Passport? Presenting anything else is unlawful. Were other people traveling with you that were not US Citizens?
Did you ASK, politely, why you were being detained at Customs? Normally they will at least tell you something like “we are checking your paperwork” or something.
You were detained at Customs? Then this had nothing to do with the EO because that only pertains to immigration / entry, not what you have in your bags.
Lastly, “a few weeks ago” implies heavily that you are not talking about last week. The EO was issued on the 27th which 13 days ago.

We’ve been asked for other identifying information and have had to wait several times at airports in the USA. I was asked for a prayer card or printed name card a couple of times because I answered the question, “What were your purposes abroad, Sir?” with “I do Christian missionary work.” I have never been offended.
