FACT SHEET: Socialized Medicine Is a Failure Everywhere It's Been Tried
In terms of both availability and quality of care, single-payer systems leave citizens out in the cold

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) debated Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in a CNN Town Hall tonight regarding the future of Obamacare. During the debate, Sen. Cruz debunked the oft-repeated myth that countries with socialized, single-payer health care systems have better health outcomes than the United States.

That’s why the left loves it.
The other thing they don’t mention is that under single-payer, the first thing the bean counters look to cut is R & D. The American health care system leads the world because of its heavy commitment to improving the standard of care through aggressive research, much of which is privately funded. Go to single payer and the standard of care is permanently frozen.
Explain that to a cancer patient who is holding out hope for a new cure.
Over here dude.
Actually, with single-payer, the FIRST thing they do is pass tort reform. The government doesn’t want to pay malpractice insurance.
bump
As crazy as our government is they probably would waive any sovereign immunity regarding med mal if they took over health care.
Take a look at the VA. It is nearly impossible to sue them for Medical Malpractice. It happens but it is much much harder to do.
A few high profile lawsuits, followed by extensive discovery would be just would is in order for the VA.
Our pre-Obamacare helthcare apparatus was deemed a failure by many. Obamacare is deemed a failure by many.
No scheme succeeds in providing “good” healthcare to all human beings. To put it another way, any scheme put forth will have many critics.
From all I’ve read in the past few years, one major problem with the UK NHS, for example, - and I suspect this also holds for some of the other countries mentioned - is that there are hundreds of thousands to millions of “new arrivals” who have never contributed *one single cent* to the health services they make generous use of.
That, of course, is wholly unsustainable. That is to say, it’s not the concept as such that fails, but the way it is implemented. Just look at the following for a good laugh:

Now *that* is a straight path to bankruptcy.
Similar in the US with all those “anchor-throwers” and other illegals.
Thanks for your ping. Not sure why you pinged me though.
