I spoke at length with someone about policing in a city under a DOJ consent decree.

Obama had the DOJ sue dozens of police departments over various 'discrimination and abuse' claims. Any disparity to Democrats = racism. So if more African-Americans are stopped and frisked or arrested and convicted of crimes, that's due to institutional racism of the police force.

The DOJ sues and rather than spend millions battling the municipality hands over control of the police to the DOJ/liberal judges.

What are some of the typical changes?

1. Any interaction with the public requires some type of report. They want to monitor the race of anyone the police talk to and this winds up in a paperwork nightmare.

2. Any time an officer takes his gun out of the holster they must write a two-page report. Doesn't matter if any shots were fired.

3. The police must police each other. They have 2 or 3 cameras (camera on car, in car, on person, on the taser itself in some cases). The supervisor has to watch random footage and report any improper actions.

4. If an officer sees a fellow officer do anything improper and doesn't report it, that officer is also written up (can lose job, stop advancement). Rat out your partner or you lose your job basically.

5. Not overtly but there's a "do the least you can" attitude that takes over. Show up after the bullets of stopped flying and write up the report. If not, you may find yourself out of a job and possibly charged with a crime as many other officers have.

If you see crime spiking in cities like Chicago, it's because a 'stand down' order is basically in effect across the board. Let the streets solve their own problems. The citizens wanted the leftists in charge, so if a few of them get killed then they should learn to vote better. The murder rate for this city doubled.

"Sending in the feds" isn't the solution. Getting the DOJ out of micromanaging the police departments is.

Not stated by the folks I spoke to it would seem this is part of a de-stabalization effort to reduce trust in the police, create more chaos on the streets, increase the crime rate, and make it more possible to collapse our government.

Many of these DOJ run police forces are also 'sanctuary cities' that aren't cooperating with the federal government (ICE) to enforce federal law. DOJ doesn't seem to be concerned about that.

Bottom line: by trying to avoid being tried by 12 more Officers will end up being carried by six.

There was a big spike in LODD by gunfire last year.

Well,I appreciate your thought. My concern is for law and order which we will have. There is no room for game playing here just as we must ban these sharia law moslems from entry here. So I disagree. I want martial law in Chicago and I want that crap head mayor arrested and hanged for sedition!!Let these damned judges enforce their unconstitutional orders!! We will use the MILITARY to enforce ours!
