An internationally-recognized Somali-American nonprofit has declined to accept a federal grant in protest of President Donald Trump’s restrictions on refugees and travel.
Ka Joog, which counsels and mentors young people in Minnesota, has turned down a $500,000 federal grant to show opposition to the Trump administration’s immigration policies that the nonprofit says targets Somalia and six other predominately Muslim countries.
Ka Joog Executive Director Mohamed Farah told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that as much as the organization does not want to turn down such a significant grant, the board has decided it cannot ethically accept the money in light of Trump’s executive order.

A few thoughts:
1) they didn’t really need it anyway, did they?
2) It was free money looking for a place to land.
In its final days, the Obama administration awarded 31 grants worth a total of about $10 million. But those agreements haven’t been signed, and money has not been distributed.

From which particular agency or source did this grant originate?
Was it really turned down by beneficiary? Or was it withdrawn by donor?
Money for youth mentoring, ostensibly to steer youngsters away from terror recruitment, and help them assimilate as Americans—was turned down? To retaliate against Trump? Really???

I'm skeptical. There are so many taxpayer-funded programs that sound great on paper ... but don't work (e.g. D.A.R.E., Head Start).

What is MY government giving MY money to these groups that encourage more foreign invasion of MY country?

No NGO, religious organization, or nonprofit should be recipient to any federal funds.
If true, an excellent example for all the other institutions and individuals who object to the Administration’s policies.
