U.S. Capitol Police are probing the activities of several IT contractors who worked for dozens of House Democrats after they allegedly inappropriately accessed House computers, took congressional computer hardware and made questionable IT-related purchases on behalf of lawmakers.

House officials already have revoked the IT and access privileges for the five congressional IT contractors, as police investigate. No arrests have yet been made.

Well, at least, it is a different twist than the one used by former Rep. Dan Rosentowski.          /sarc

DC Capitol cops who investigated the Vince Foster “murder” and deemed it a “suicide?” How humorous; NOT!

“...Ruddy, who has covered the case almost from the start, details the disturbing inconsistencies surrounding Foster’s alleged suicide, chronicles the botched investigations, documents the frenzied illegal activity in the White House in the hours after Foster’s death, and notes the persistent failure of mainstream media to ask the right question...”

This is how hacking is accomplished.

Improperly vetted and supervised IT contractors.

Question?

Possibly the Capital Police are on the hot seat for the hacking that went on BUT, aren’t congressmen restricted from using there offices for political uses?

From Wiki

United States Capitol Police (USCP) is a federal law enforcement agency charged with protecting the United States Congress within the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its territories. The USCP are one of the few federal police forces responsible to the legislative branch of the U.S. government.

Back around 2011...the Navy complex in Arlington woke up, and did some audit. Some guy who did all of the hardware work at some site there for at least three or four years....had been ordering tons of equipment, and only about half of the items stayed within the compound. Everything else went to his private residence and he sold via Ebay.

At the time, it was rumored that he’d walked out with over one million in hardware. Because this was federal items....he ended up with federal charges. Don’t know the final result....he was trying to negotiate this down.

They can’t properly vet IT contractors. Can we expect much for vetting invaders?
