Having been 'black-balled' by the Trump, it appears CNN is going all-in on alienating itself from The White House as The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports a CNN editor and producer who was detained Sunday at Atlanta's airport has filed a federal lawsuit challenging President Donald Trump's immigration order.
Mohammed Tawfeeq is an Iraqi national who has been a permanent legal resident of the United States since 2013. As an editor, Tawfeeq frequently travels to the Middle East as part of his reporting duties, the lawsuit states. Tawfeeq was detained Sunday at Atlantas Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, where he was subjected to additional screening that delayed his entry into the United States.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the lawsuit states...
Defendants used Trump's recent executive order to unlawfully detain Tawfeeq, who is a legal permanent resident of the U.S., an immigrant from Iraq, an award-winning Middle Eastern journalist and the current manager of CNN's International Desk.
The lawsuit, filed against the U.S. departments of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection and other federal agencies, seeks a declaration of Tawfeeqs rights under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
The suits states that applying this executive order to lawful permanent residents or green card holders returning after a brief trip abroad violates the Immigration and Nationality Act, the Administrative Procedure Act and the U.S. Constitution.
The executive order has greatly increased the uncertainty involved in current and future international travel for returning lawful permanent residents like Mr. Tawfeeq, the lawsuit states.

Oh, was he inconvenienced? My lil ol’ heart breaks for him.
Probably hoping to have his green card pulled and be deported so he can become a journo=martyr and make his carreer.
Just goes to show.... this guy NEVER intended to become an American OR to respect the laws of the US.
Betcha he goes down on his knees, in obeisance to the govt of Iraq, whenever he's in his accursed Muslim homeland.
DEPORT HIM....we don't want this jerk in our country if he cant respect our laws.
CNN is going to have to crib notes from Infowars for a while.
Thanks for the ping! Has anyone seen the actual filing? I’d very much like to read it...

Hey, Mo—sorry you got your feelings bruised. Actually, I could not care less. I hope everyone traveling from mohammedan countries is detained in order to ensure that no terrorist gets through. If you don’t like it, either stay in the U.S. (assuming you really have the right to do so) or stay in Iraq. I don’t care about your travel problems.
He looks like ‘’Flounder’’ from National Lampoons “Animal House’’.
Give it a google....has to be on-line .........
My nyaaaa nyaaaa moment.......dollars to donuts this moron never sued Iran for infringing on his rights.
That’ll put the kibosh to his case right there.......nyaaa nyaaaa.
CNN thrown out of court will be a rude awaking.
He was not barred from entry. He does not have a leg to stand on. TSA has detainrd people lopnger — a LOT longer, and caused people to miss their flights.
Speakingbopfvwhich,, I never heard Trump promise to kill TSA. There is an immediate need.
