Changing the rules may need for clarification.

Don’t show up, don’t get to vote. Sounds fair to me.

They are just using the tool given to the Senate by Reid, a democrat.

Do you have a problem with that?

Meanwhile, Al Franken is exploding in insults of both Jeff Sessions and Ted Cruz, stalling the committee vote. The dems are over the top, creating a situation where they have nowhere good to bring this outrage they’re creating.

What the hell?! How long have I been asleep for? I thought it would take decades for the GOP to grow spines and balls again.

Shockingly, they did it overnight!

It's not like the GOP held a secret midnight vote. Nor did they take the other path of having the sergeant at arms round up the missing committe members.

The Dems thought it was so cute when they hopped on bus over the state line in Wisconsin to hold things up that they thought they'd try it here.

You don’t need the committee’s approval, so what difference does it make for them to vote? Push it through to the floor, where it counts.

This assumes of course, that we have the votes.

I’m tickled to death about it. Why would you assume otherwise since I posted this news?

The scary thing about this is that to understand it requires common sense. The republicans in congress appear to be temporarily using common sense. How long will that last? Congressional republicans don’t have a huge love affair with common sense. They are often completely estranged from it.

But... let’s see how long the current situation will hold.

I suggested yesterday, the no-shows ought to have their pay docked.

bad things happen when you don't show up to vote.

As one who routinely says terrible things about the Senate and those in it I would like to say - Bravo - Well Done Senators!

For God’s sake, wake up: this direction came from McConnell. Hatch and the committee members didn’t act unilaterally without support and direction from above.
