Oh, and Rush... About that cloture thing...
You don't need 60 votes anymore for Cabinet confirmations. That's only for Supreme Court nominations now.
So there is no excuse for bringing confirmation votes to the floor, except for weak leadership.

McConnell can just change the rules if he wanted to. That’s how Reid implemented the nuclear option. I’m sure he didn’t have Republican support to do that. Committees and Sub Committees are not a constitutional requirement. IT’s just an excuse for the Republicans to continue to do nothing

I guess he could have fired her at any time without waiting for his nominee’s confirmation. But doing it like this could prove very useful.
It gave him a chance to show how quickly insubordination gets handle in this administration.

That would take a very long period of time and would not be likely to pass.

I bet Rush’s inbox filled with folks correcting him on not needing 60 votes for senate cabinet nomination confirmations anymore.
If Rush were too acknowledge that it not a simple majority is needed, then he would have to blame his buddy McConnell for allowing the dimrats to obstruct and delay confirmation votes as much as the dimrats themselves!

Rush is right about this today. If Trump thinks he can negotiate with the left by throwing them bones like the Obama lbecqfretfs executive order he's got to re-think it.
President Trump: You have to crush them. Their support is like a giant hot air balloon. It looks big and loud and scary but the sound you hear when you prick it is the sound f air escaping. Prick it enough times and you'll see it was mostly hot air all the time.

Has McConnell been seen anywhere? I googled him and can't find any quotes in the past 24 hours. He should be right behind Schumer making the Republican case every time that Schumer speaks.

If it were clear to him that the Republicans were solidly behind him you might be right but he is fighting two parties at the moment. LGBTQXWYDUDUY Crap is not a major issue when considering all the other stuff he has to do alone. If you want him to fight everything then he’ll need a team. As it stands now it’s Trump V Everyone else. He’ll have to choose wisely when and where to hit and he’s been doing a great job. He also has to keep the people behind him and when even people on this forum get weak knee’d because of the constant media barrage he has to keep that in mind. He doesn’t have a pro Trump protests on a daily basis to combat this crap so we’ll just have to deal with the fact that he has to pick his battles to some extent.
To: Trump Girl Kit Cat
I sent Trump an e-mail message this morning to thank him &
Pence for doing a great job. (I don’t want him to burn out
from working too hard; but he is very unusually energetic.)

Maybe it's just that Americans still think that the Patriots cheated last year with Deflategate?

Just tuned in, and -- sure enough -- Rush is talking about Tom Brady, Colin Kaepernick and the damn Super Bowl. He uses every freakin' chance to work football into his monologues! SO sick of this crap...
Slow news day, Rush?? (Hardly!)

The person who Trump doesn’t pick for the SC is probably going to breathe a sigh of relief.
To: carriage_hill
I will certainly cut Rush some slack re: the Super Bowl stuff on Monday, AFTER the game is over, when there IS some actual news.
But it's nearly every freakin' day... GRR!

Probably not. Amazingly, Rush said he didn't even know who Steve Bannon was, until he became involved in Trump's campaign.
Yet he knows every damn NFL player, and all of their stats and idiosyncrasies. It's very disappointing... Rush isn't the political powerhouse he was many years ago.
