What does this executive order do?
The Executive Order has four main policies 1) Places a 90 day moratorium on entry to the U.S. from the seven countries named in a 2015 law aimed at requiring stricter vetting for people entering from Iran or countries overrun by jihadist violence. 2) Suspends admission of refugees from any country for 120 days in order to conduct a review of the program. 3) Suspends admissions of refugees from Syria indefinitely. 4) Caps the number of refugees this year at 50,000 How does President Trump have the authority to do this? Federal law, specifically the Immigration and Nationalization Act, gives the President pretty broad authority to block classes of immigrants from specific countries.

U.S. Code § 1182 - Inadmissible aliens: Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
WOOOHOOO President Trump
WOOOHOOO DHS head John Kelly
America’s finest
Maybe someone here could tell me where in the US Constitution does it give an Inferior Court created by Congress the Authority to overrule the Executive Branch on ANYTHING!
Maybe CONgress should do their job and start removing these recalcitrant judges on these inferior courts.
Do we even need Inferior Courts at the federal level?
Didn't Slick Willie fire all of these federal judges when he took office?
I’d like to insert some logic. President Trump has promised to disintegrate ISIS (my words). That means any residents of those countries who might be in the sights will try to get out ASAP. Stopping them from coming to the US just makes sense.
When the a##clown did it everyone was on board
Clinton fired all US District attorneys.
United States Attorneys (also known as federal prosecutors and, historically, as United States District Attorneys)represent the United States federal government in United States district court and United States court of appeals.
No one has the right to enter the US except US citizens. For any others, it is a privilege we extend to whoever we decide to extend it to. We can not extend the privilege without explanation or apology.
Immigration policy should serve the interests of citizens first, foremost, and always.
Our government is installed to secure the rights of US citizens. It is not the government of the world, it is our government, it is there to serve our interests.
Liars dont do that to other liars.
Do we even need Inferior Courts at the federal level
Not really, but CONgress could ORDER the Judiciary to remain Silent on ALL Cases regarding Immigration, Including the supreme Court.
Article 3, section 2
....the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.
So it is only because the Supreme Court can’t handle its job that we have all these Circuit courts. There are at least nine of them, maybe more.
A few countries need to be added to the list.
Obama will have never worked so hard at his policies as president as after he was president.
So it is only because the Supreme Court cant handle its job that we have all these Circuit courts. There are at least nine of them, maybe more.
NO, It is because CONGRESS isn’t Doing their JOB
No Inferior court created by Congress has the authority to overrule the Executive Branch, If Congress were to pass a simple law stating The Judiciary shall remain silent on all executive orders regarding immigration as permitted in Article 3, Section 2 of the US Constitution it would shut out the Courts entirely and it is clearly within the Duty of Congress to do that under the Constitution.
....the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make.
Well said.
The seven muzzie countries do not allow Israelis to visit.
