This is going to be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court so the Democrats can make this the fight over Trump's SCOTUS nomination next week.
Trump needs to think about pacing this to protect the nomination of his SCOTUS pick, or the Democrats will hold the Supreme Court hostage to immigration policy.
McConnell is already surrendering the Senate on filibusters; Democrats now know he will be weak even with full Republican control of the Federal government.
This is an "all in" moment for Trump, but this is not the pot to go all in for. Trump needs a tactical retreat here while he reorganizes his strategy to protect his SCOTUS nominee. He also needs to review his relationship with McConnell and start quickly thinking about a succession plan for Senate Majority Leader.

As I wrote on GAB, A terrorist supporting federal judge who blocked Trumps ban of Muslims is in direct violation of the Supreme court in UNITED STATES v. VALENZUELA-BERNAL, (1982) and needs to be impeached for, at minimum, incompetence.
“The power to regulate immigration—an attribute of sovereignty essential to the preservation of any nation—has been entrusted by the Constitution to the political branches of the Federal Government.”
The Court, “without exception”, called this power “plenary,” empowering the Presidential prerogative as expressly delegated by Congress, with the right to “make rules for the admission of aliens.”
The Congress carved out protection only for a limited class of aliens: those who qualify for an immigrant visa. Even here, the only limits are race, sex, nationality, but no limits on the presidential power to exclude based on religion, terror designations, poor vetting documentation or anything that can be called a matter of “procedure.” All refugees can be legally excluded. All Muslims can be legally excluded. All Sharia law supporters can be legally excluded.
