Whenever I invade a neighbor’s house without invitation, I feel...’bullied’.

Avocados will be more expensive but I am willing to sacrifice

No sacrifice required.

We grow bigger and better avocados here in Florida. So we'll just grow more. California grows plenty too.

Since the cartels have their hands in the Mexican avocado trade, good riddance.

I’m glad you enjoyed the strawberries but my idea of a decent strawberry are the two weeks in June when they are in season and small and juicy. I don’t like the CA ones but buy them on occasion to make sauce.

I try not to buy products from Mexico.

I know, both California and Florida Avocados are better, creamier, but they gap during part of the year. Adding more trees would help

“President Trump just launched an all out trade war with Mexico.”

Why do we need a full out trade war?

All we need is a wall paid by the mexicans. We don’t need a price increase of 20% that WE end up paying.

Of course I fully realize that this is Trumps opening stance on the negotiations that are to follow, so I take it with a grain of salt.

“So get used to paying more for everything so the unions get more jobs. “

Retarded liberal logic. I guess you prefer Americans not have any jobs so long as imports are cheap for you to buy things.

Actually, job growth continues to head to Right-to-Work states.

Union workers will be improved, but not like non-union workers.

[ MEXICO CITY—President Enrique Peña Nieto on Thursday called off a trip to Washington, after President Trump launched his plan to construct a border wall and insisted he would stick Mexico with the bill. The incident opened one of the most serious rifts in memory between the United States and its southern neighbor. ]

GOOD

I, for one, am tired of Mexico living off the United States of America. Tired of the Reconquista, the massive invasion, the subterfuge of America’s sovereignty. This insurgency must stop.

They can have Senor Jeb, who wants to make America Mexico Again. Adios, Jeb.

It’s still a tax which would need approval of Congress. How many will vote for a tax increase? They may fund the wall but it won’t be this way.

That means the American consumer will pay for the border wall by paying 20% more for Mexican goods.

So when they go to the car lot, thinking they are buying a US car, they’ll just see a higher price tag, not that they’re paying an extra $800 due to the 34% made in Mexico parts. Or when they buy a fan, they just see an extra 30% on the price, not that it was assembled in Mexico.

US consumers will pay the price, just like every ‘tax’ on corporations are paid by the customers. Just another shell game.

I’m not disagreeing with the strategy, I think that more companies are concerned about tag price, and will shift production rather quickly if a tariff goes into effect, which will cost Mexico hundreds of billions. If they were even slightly economically savvy, they’d know exactly what this entails and will be making negotiations on the back channels to try to come up with alternatives.

As I said in the first post, it is just the opening salvos; Mexico could build the wall rather cheaply, or they can see just how much it could cost them.
