If DJT doesn’t use troops, which I think would be a crying shame, he will still have lots and lots of Federal prosecutors available. All it takes is a little initiative and gangbangers will be finding themselves in ADX Florence.
We forget that the law abiding in Chicago can’t freely walk down the street without threat of extreme violence, and it’s increasingly evident that the criminals and local politicians are in more or less open collaboration. That’s an environment ripe for disaster. Hell, it’s already a disaster.
About twenty-five years ago the Federal Government decided to crack down on street crime and particularly gun violence Washington D.C. What they did was to assign Federal prosecutors to bring charges in Federal Court in cases that would normally be handled in D.C.; Superior Court. While, you can argue that D.C never became a crime free city, this strategy had a dramatic effect on the number of criminals on the street and the murder rate.
