In criticizing Kellyanne Conway’s use of the term “alternative facts” to explain White House spokesman Sean Spicer’s comments while addressing the press this past Saturday, Rather said: “facts, and the truth . . . are at the very foundation of our democracy.”

They’ve deluded themselves for so long that the “facts” are what THEY say they are and what they believe. Those “facts” are colored through the lens of their liberal ideology.
FINALLY, they’re being challenged and all they can do is puff up their chests in defensive, self-righteous indignation. They are so egotistical and Trump is playing that angle beautifully.
He’s going to run rings around them while they spin and stare at their navels.

I think that’s insightful. The media has been relentlessly pushing a Progressive ideology for years. Now they have to push a message that they are “serious” and “truthful” and that Trump is being “unfair”. That is the media’s focus now. They are struggling to assert their own relevance. They no longer have time to push much of a Progressive ideology.

Wasn’t it Freeper Buckhead that effectively ended any credibility Dan Rather ever had? Who knew this groundhog would ever show his face again after that embarrassment, and to add insult to injury, he is lecturing about credibility????
That’s like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton lecturing crackas on racism.

For all the flurry about “alternative facts” I don’t think I ever heard what she was actually referring to. Pointers?
Did you see Spicer’s original dressing down of the press on the MLK bust and the crowd estimates? It was there that he quoted what turned out to be some erroneous subway numbers (that he later said the inauguration committee had given him) and that this was the first inauguration where the white ground cover was used (when apparently it had also been used at Obama’s second inauguration), along with some rule of thumb estimates used for crowd counts on different segments of the mall, etc.
She was saying that Sean was offering some “alternate facts” to the original press posts on the headcount at that briefing. Sure seemed to me that that was what he was doing—even though it turned out he didn’t have all his facts straight at that point.
A few years ago I advised my liberal friend that his facts he heard from MSM ware not necessarily any more accurate than my facts from sites like Free Republic.
I cannot begin to describe the irony and hypocrisy in that statement.
Where’s a timestamp on that picture they keep showing?
Being a liberal Democrat means being impervious to embarrassment. They breath therefore they lie. But in their little minds they are always right.
