Looks like a colorable claim of self defense does indeed exist. The two individuals were some distance apart. The guy who got shot closed the distance quickly and confronted the alleged shooter. The only thing is that I can't say with certainty who fired the shot.

I agree. It is not clear to me who had the gun. But the consensus seems to be that yellow hat guy is the alleged shooter.

Well, the guy in the yellow hat apparently admitted to cops that he shot the guy — and did it in self defense. They released him.

I feel sorry for the guy who was shot and for the guy who did the shooting. Without knowing either of them. If one looks for trouble, they are almost certain to find it.

At about 1:15 in the video one of those anarchist types slaps a trump hat off a man taping the protest. It happens a little to the left and below the red line indicating where the shooting victim is standing at the time. The anarchist runs out of the frame at the bottom left. It looks like the guy who got slapped gets belligerent with the crowd not knowing that the coward who did it has run off. It looks like the shooter runs to the scene looking for trouble and the shooting victim confronts him before being shot.

My hunch is yellow hat was being threatened by the mob, he already had his gun out as a line of defense against the mob, when the red line guy came up and attempted to disarm yellow hat, yellow hat then fired in defense at red line who was attempting to disarm him. Red falls to the ground, yellow hat exits the scene.

This hunch is based comments which said the yellow hat was released after stating he was defending himself.

Also, we’re not seeing the seconds leading up to this. I’d bet yellow hat was close to being stomped by the mob.
