Millions of people don’t watch TV anymore. I saw the inauguration online.

And that is what makes Nielsen irrelevant.

My personal view is that the only entity capable of evaluating (if they had a mind to and were truthful) the viewership would be the NSA. But that is problematic in itself. :0)

Friday was a workday. I had the inauguration streaming on my computer as did most of my co-workers. Eventually the bandwidth maxed out and many streams crashed or paused. I managed to keep my stream going for most of it. There used to be televisions in the workplace but they don't exist anymore because all media is done with PCs, mobile devices and projectors. When I got home, I re-played most of the highlights on YouTube. No television at all this Inauguration.

I think it's a silly waste of time trying to calculate who was there and who was watching at home.

Many if not most DJT voters work for a living, and could not take time off to attend the inauguration in person.

“And actually, Trump might have been seen by more viewers than either Obama or Reagan. Nielsen ratings do not account for online viewing...”

It would most likely be a safe bet that if online viewers had been included in this ratings analysis that Trump’s inauguration would trump all others. As others have already stated, millions of people have justifiably quit watching events through the filters of the Ministry of Propaganda, in favor of viewing the unadulterated, raw, truth, in real time, offered by so many online sources anymore.

Yep. Millenials stare at their laptops/iphones. My son doesn’t even own a television.

In fairness to EW which is a liberal rag, did mention the online streaming numbers, that most likely meant the viewers for Trump’s inauguration was highest of all time.

I did see it on tv, but I have ota tv, not cable. OTA tv doesn’t count, either because they can’t track what you’re watching like they can with cable or internet.
