President-elect Donald Trump will set a record with the amount of prayers during his inaugural ceremonies Friday.
Trump, who is starting the day at St. Johns Church for a service at 8:30 a.m., will have six religious prayers as part of the ceremony, three invocations and three benedictions.
Thats a record, according to Jim Bendat, the author of Democracys Big Day, who was speaking on CNN Friday morning.
The first invocation is scheduled for 11:21 a.m. and the final benediction is scheduled for 12:14 p.m.
Trump will be sworn in using both his own Bible, gifted to him by his mother, and the Bible used to swear in President Abraham Lincoln.
The National Prayer Service will be held on Saturday and features 26 religious leaders. Most come from denominations of the Christian faith, but other faiths featured include Islam, Judaism and the Navajo Nation.

Those heaten bastards.................oh. Never mind. Guess we might be getting back to our roots. Finally. Thank you Lord. Please protect the incoming president and his family and the VP and his family. There are evil (spelled soros) forces at play here.
Islam is a poor choice, since its true followers want you subjugated, enslaved or killed if you decline to convert. And the Imam might just go "BOOM" in the middle of the "prayer".
I know people who made fun of him because “he’s not a real Christian”.
I don’t know how anyone can make such a pronouncement, but in the end, I just don’t care. He loves America. He clearly wants to let people know that faith is important. If we’re going to pull this country back from the brink, we need help from a higher power.
Relying on guys from Harvard won’t achieve the results we’re looking for. Ask God’s blessing: it’s always a good idea, and Trump gets it.
I hope it’s sincere prayer & not just throwing a mud pie in the faces of leftists & Muslims. But that wouldn’t upset me too much, either. ;-)
We really need a “like” botton. Or better, a “Wooho” button.
“He’s not a real Christion” is a judgment of the subject’s heart.
It is a judgment that is above every human’s pay grade.
Its such a beautiful day in DC as well.
The Lord is smiling upon America
+1
And also the prayers ending with “in Jesus’ name’.
Been a long time since we’ve heard that, & I am glad to hear it again.
Did I miss the Imam’s prayer?
Article mentioned the prayers on Friday . I was referring to those.
Contd:
The prayers at the inauguration itself.
6 preachers; 5 Christian & one Jewish.
4 of the 5 Christian preachers had the “in Jesus name” in their prayers.
There has been censorship where Christian chaplains and ministers are told not to pray in Jesus’ name.
I hope that will end; as President Trump would say, “that ends right here & right now”.
Who was the minister who referred to God over and over again as “She”?
