I think I’d rather have my German car built by Germans.
Have you seen any videos of the Audi factory? They are on a completely different level than the US. I’m talking about the assembly workers, not just the machinery, which is also very impressive.
yes but...
1. right now it is the USA market that is the primary source of funding for the development of new medicines
(the meds are then sold in those other countries at their eventual manufacturing costs, if you will, but those revenues do not pay for the development and testing of the new medicines)
2. so you may fairly conclude that it is the USA consumer that is subsidizing the patients in those other countries
3. I do not know how to get those countries to pay ‘their fair share’ of development and testing costs to bring new medicines to market, maybe DJT can figure out a way however
4 just mandating (forcing) firms to sell at below-development-cost prices .... will stop the development of new medicines
5. so, unless we want to do that (and I, for one, definitely want more and more new good, tested medicines...one of them might someday save your life or mine) then we need to “fix the problem” the “right way” and not just “order” Merck or Phizer to “sell for less”
6. come to think more on it, I do believe DJT with his focus and his negotiating skills....and his independence (he doesn’t need anybody’s “contribution” money)....he may just be the person who can get this done with the foreign countries that are “freeloading” on American patients
....(If Congress can be brought around to do it, most Congress=critters are still addicted to “filthy lucre”..)
I agree I like free trade——totally free trade, but can’t stand the current system where America loses every single time in a trade treaty.
Another thing I can’t understand is all these Chamber of Commerce Crooks wailing about retraining American workers in the service sector. This retraining crap is just that crap, I have heard it for 20 yrs.
A service economy won’t work if you don’t have customers seeking services and to get these customers you have to produce and manufacture something. When you voluntarily destroy that sector who needs the services?
Who needs the services - and/or who can afford them when So many of us are unemployed ?
Exactly, you don’t need that type of economy when you have no one with money to spend, it won’t work. But our “brilliant” Ivy League grads in government and business have yet to figure this out.
Thank you for your excellent post!
Yo is velkum. Glad u like !
Indeed. We are paying the price of having had too many incompetent representatives and negotiators. (Plus obama’s deliberate sabotage of our economy). DJT looks like a better negotiator — )
