Lecturers who are '60 year old white men' are unable to teach black and minority ethnic (BME) people, students have complained.
The students, who are studying at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), said under-representation of black people among the teaching staff, relative to the student body, made students feel 'isolated', unable to engage with their studies and lecturers.

We can put a man on the moon but we still haven’t been able to find a way to teach black kids so they perform as well as whites or asians. All of the demands made by race hustlers for black teachers, principals, administrators, school boards, money and equipment have failed miserably. A good case could be made that black culture is to blame but that is a taboo subject as is IQ.
Maybe we can have two school systems, separate but equal.
After all, it was Democrats that set up the old one.

In reality, exactly WHO are these racists? I see more race baiting and down right rebellion from the blacks than I do from the whites.
“studying at the School of Oriental and African Studies” Yes, that ought to prepare them for the WORKFORCE! A School that teaches exclusively Oriental and African Studies! HAHAHAH
They do, so they can deal with a lowered bar/standard. It isn’t just about whites; every other non-black group puts them to shame academically, and rather face the challenge head-on they’ve opted to just create a lower target.
This doesn’t bode well for their future, or the future of those who have to deal with their permanent envy and inferiority complexes. The roots of much of their violence, IMHO...
They want segregation when it’s convenient or beneficial for them. But nobody else is allowed to segregate themselves from THEM.

I thought higher education was about, in part, understanding different perspectives.
Guess that’s just my University of Chicago M.A. talking.
We are still short of ethnic accountants (CPA) and fund managers (MBA) architects, mathematicians, doctors, engineers and physicists (PhD) to populate our once excellent Universities. Most are hired from sources outside the US.
See? That’s exactly the kind of chauvinism, racism, and cultural insensitivity the report in question was trying to document!!! It’s downgrading, deplorable, and denigratory!

Maybe the student’’s racism prevents their ability to learn from functioning.
It already has hit the US. I was told in 93 not to go for my Phd. as there wouldn’t be any jobs for me. This has largely been true. It is extremely difficult for a white make to find a job in academia.
Furthermore, think of the ludicrousness of the articles assertion; transmission of knowledge is link to alleged race? You do not want the oldest, and one can assume the most experienced best educated individuals teaching?
Think of it this way, your brain surgeon is a 60 something year old Black man who has devoted his life to neurosurgery and you are a white racist. Do you decline his offer to save your life?
I had teachers who HATED prior service people, yet I still learned from them.
You forgot hockey players, figure skaters, down hill skiers.
I live for the day when football is ethnically divers. A fair representation of women, whites, Asians, homosexuals, handicapped, etc.; teams evenly balanced to represent all of society. I want to see the blind lineman, the down syndrome punt returner, the female center, and the game has to stop so certain players can face Mecca and pray,maybe then folks would see the silliness of all this.

Catholic schools have been doing it successfully for centuries for students of every racial heritage. The latest success story on Catholic schooling occurred in post-Katrina New Orleans. (All-minority Catholic schools had been producing well educated black graduates long before Katrina.....I worked with many in the Louisiana petrochem industry).
The city government couldn't get their act together to re-start the public schools, so Catholic schools (which were up and running again very quickly) opened their doors to any students. The improved educational results for "minority" students on standard tests was the start of the New Orleans "charter school" movement.
Of course, the "education professionals" are producing study after study trying to discredit or at least conceal those results.
