The great detective writer Raymond Chandlers final Philip Marlowe novel is titled The Long Goodbye. Perhaps Chandler was looking forward to Barack Obamas look-at-me-Im-still-important address Tuesday night. It was a dirge that went on at No-Doz length.
Unfortunately, I missed the address in real time because I had a conflict. I had to flea-powder the cat. As for addresses, it was sufficient for me that Obamas will soon no longer start with 1600. But I learned Wednesday morning that Obama established a new NCAA record for adios speech length, speaking longer than Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton combined as these former presidents headed toward the door marked exit. (Talking longer than Billy-Bob on anything is impressive in itself.) I abused time this morning reading the transcript of the speech.

The speech also set records for irrelevance, delusions, false trails (see George Neumayrs fine catalogue of these), and vacuousness. But stats are not kept in these categories, though they should be.
His Glibness also spent a good deal of time taking credit for successes, most of which he had to make up. The Daily Caller reports that in doing so he referred to himself 75 times during the speech. My White House sources tell me that after the speech presidential physicians had to treat Obamas left arm, which he nearly dislocated patting himself on the back.

... had to miss the Royal Idiot's speech because of a conflict ... had to flea-powder the cat.
Didn’t miss much. He tried to take over President Trumps agenda as his accomplishments. It was hysterically funny
I wonder if that Obergefell person and his so-called husband object to Obama’s hijacking of their court case and calling it his own achievement?
I would not worry...friend...not many Americans tuned in to listen to this low life America Hater, Obama!!! After January 20, 2017....Obama will join his good friends, Hillary & Bill Clinton, Jill Stein, Barbara Boxer, Harry Reid, Joe Biden in the cesspool of forever obscurity!!! The political death of the Democrat Party continues, unabated with the likes of Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelsoi!!! Them Democrat types are not the sharpest political knives in the drawer!!!
Lol. I missed it because I didn’t have a cat, so I got one to flea powder so I’d be too busy.
Trump makes watching press conferences fun again.
I just pretended I had some drying paint to watch.
Missed it, busy binge watching Man In The High Castle
Don’t forget - his first accomplishment was sending the bust of Churchill back to England; Shortly thereafter he visited QEII and gave her a worthless gift of videos that did not work on Euro machines. Then he won a Nobel Peace prize [for beginning a race war?]!
That was all in the first few months. But he was hailed as the most brilliant of Presidents; a great speaker. The only thing he was credited with that might be valid is he is [or appears to be] a good father.
lol! I missed it too. I think I was dressing m little dog in her jacket and Polar booties.
Here’s a spare time exercise for a historian: count up the number of times the president used personal pronouns in his speeches over 8 years.
