lol
now that blacks are being charged with hate crimes... they are a bad idea and must be repealed.
It was never a good idea.
hate-crime legislation was NEVER a noble idea, it was always directed only at white people, Christians, heterosexuals, and most often white males, and was ALWAYS politicized from the get go.”
And that is exactly the original intention. The proponents were mostly queers and Africans.
“Hate crimes” are pretty much definitionally “political crimes.” They’ve always been, are, and always will be a bad idea.
Race...gender...etc,etc...who cares.
Hate crime legislation is a blatant violation of the Equal Protection Clause.
hate crime law is bad law.
but until it finally gets tossed it better damn well be applied to everyone.
Every group given special preference and privilege by such hate crime laws have become more prevalent perpetrators of hate crimes themselves.
“Thought Crime” was NEVER a good idea, VDH.
Hate crime is thought crime. Therefore, enhanced sentencing is wrong. What is a murder or a rape or a kidnapping that is not deemed a hate crime, a love crime? Please. Ridiculous. Stop making mealy-mouthed rationalizations for members of so-called “oppressed” groups who have committed crimes and hand down the fair sentence due. Do the same for anyone who commits a crime out of bias against his or her victim. Anything else is patently unconstitutional.
Agree.
It was always a bad idea.
It’s a bad idea gone worse.
Hate crime legislation was never good or noble. Seriously?
What went wrong with it was the vast majority of hate crimes were perpetuated by leftist and not right wingers.
So, everytime a white guy is charged with a hate crime the public can’t help but wonder why when a black person slaughters a white person its not a hate crime?
I don’t see where it EVER was a good idea. Certainly not at the Federal level.
