The Intelligence Community versus Donald Trump
American Thinker ^ | January 8, 2017 | John Dietrich

Posted on 01/08/2017 6:05:30 AM PST by Kaslin

The continuing campaign to discredit President-Elect Trump is increasing in intensity. It is based on allegations that the Russians interfered in the U.S. election. It is suggested that Hillary Clinton would have won the election if the Russians had not interfered. The establishment media echo accounts by the administration's anonymous sources frequently neglecting to include the word "alleged." In spite of their damaged credibility, they have demonstrated that they can still be influential. In addition to anonymous sources, the media are relying on academics and retired intelligence personnel.

The New York Times has reported, "The assessment by American intelligence agencies that the Russian government stole and leaked Clinton campaign emails has been accepted across the political spectrum, with the notable exception of Mr. Trump." Apparently, the Times searched for people who supported Trump, but they were unable to locate them. Trump's critics are everywhere.

Critics of the president-elect have charged him with everything but being a KGB agent. Former acting CIA director Michael Morell claims that Vladimir Putin has "cleverly recruited Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation." Michael V. Hayden, former director of the NSA and CIA, says he prefers the term polezni durak. "That's the useful fool, some naif, manipulated by Moscow, secretly held in contempt, but whose blind support is happily accepted and exploited." Senator Harry Reid wrote to FBI director James Comey, "It has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisers, and the Russian government – a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity." The New York Post quotes a CIA official: "It's pretty horrifying to me that he's siding with Assange over the intelligence agencies."

Twelve days, and Trump can start firing these nitwits.

I hope he cleans house. Bigtime.

Liberals have completely taken over, the higher positions in our intelligence agencies.

Bush was “considerate” and did not clean things out.

I think that was a very big mistake.

However my opinion, is that of an outsider. FWIW. Which is about, what you paid for the advice.

:D

The intelligence community has only itself to blame.

It has compromised itself with the creation/nurturing of ISIS.

Bush was “considerate” and did not clean things out.

I thought the word was "compassionate," but whatever. I always thought "spineless," and "doormat" were more appropriate for what Bush did & didn't do or say as a global elitist type.

Sticks and stones from the cold warriors are not going to change trumps instincts that dealing with Russia from US national strength and finding common ground in the war on terror are going to replace poking the bear and chest thumping

I wonder if they would have called Reagan a “ naïf”?

They fear that he will drain the swamp and install a reliable crew in the intel community instead of the political partisan toadies who will aid and abet the MSM and Dems in twisting info for political purposes. Gonna be some sorry folks when Sessions starts prosecuting leakers for treasonous activities....

The NY Times seems to miss the key issue here. Under Clinton and Obama (with little repair by Bush), many federal agencies (IRS, EPA, CIA, judiciary) have become increasingly politicized, along with much of the press/media, which have gone from partisan to downright dishonest.

In the case of the CIA, the Dems have for over a generation run it down as a manipulative out of control agency, and, once they got the levers of power, used it for their own purposes. This Russian thing sprang to life in the press and from the mouths of Democratic operatives almost overnight. Why should anyone believe it? The Press has become Pravda; the government has become The Party.

The reservoir of goodwill and the presumption of impartial, honest authority attempting to work for the common good have been ruined. No thinking person believes much that is reported by the government or the press. Whether Trump will be able to repair this is an open question, but he was elected to try.

Bottom line to this whole thing.............

The e-mails were NOT made up....The e-mails told how corrupt the dems and Clinton are...

It doesn’t matter if Assange, the Russians, or Martians released the e-mails...

I am not sure in modern history whether an incoming president has ever inherited a government full of unreliable untrustworthy corrupted agencies ( including the CIA! , Homeland Security , Dept of Justice and US State Department)

Not to mention saboteurs in the Fed and BOTH parties in Congress plus the entire US establishment controlled media

And a demoralized military weakened by politicized leadership, ridiculous social experimentation and manipulation

The challenge Trump is taking on is simply is mind boggling

Well Assange said he, Wikileaks, did not get the DNC and Pedesta emails, from Putin, Russian agencies of vodka makers. I believe him. Was there a cutoff used. Might be.
Let's look at the other side, our 17 intelligence agencies. In 6 months that number will be single digits however that it another story. They meaning one or more than one of them had hacked Hillary's server and the DNC server. To cover their tracks they left Russian code tracks. You can buy hacking code on the Internet so no big deal. Now they take Hillary down and blame Trump and Putin. In effect they influenced the election and say they can't show us the proof. Yes it was an inside job, the CIA and friends did it.

Agree. Also, I found it amazing that the Dems made almost no effort to deny the content of the emails. There were a few feeble comments by Podesta and Donna Brazile that some particular emails “might not have been entirely accurate,” but that was about it.

But, the other issue I was pointing too is that our institutions have been so thoroughly corrupted for short-term political gain that they are unbelievable. I think it takes a couple of generations for that to self-correct—look at Russia, where they eventually realized that Stalin was a madman, or even China, where they revere Mao, but at the same time freely admit he screwed up big-time in many ways. It’s going to take a while here, and some bumps, before the idiocy of the Democrats becomes common wisdom.

Trump nailed the CIA and Friends. Who leaked the report to NBC before I got it?

Trump needs to rid the intelligence community of the liberal Eastern Elites that have infected it since WWII. They have invested all their resources in the Russian threat, while dictatorial petro states seem to be kicking our butts.
