Airport shooting suspect Esteban Santiago told investigators he planned the carnage and purchased a one-way ticket to Fort Lauderdale to carry it out. But it is still unclear why he came to South Florida to do it.
Federal prosecutors filed court documents, ... he could face the death penalty or life in federal prison, they said.
"Santiago fired approximately 10 -15 rounds ... aiming at his victims' heads ... walking while shooting in a methodical manner,... Five people died and six more suffered gunshot injuries. ... Moments later, a Broward sheriff's deputy approached Santiago, who "dropped the handgun on the ground, in lock-back [mode], meaning that all the ammunition had been fired, and [he] dropped to the floor," investigators wrote.
He told investigators he checked baggage that contained a Walther 9mm semi-automatic handgun and two magazines of ammunition... claiming his baggage,... took it into a stall in the men's restroom, ... loaded it and put it in his waistband, ... shot the first people he encountered,"... reloaded and shot until the second magazine, too, was out of bullets.... approximately 15 rounds...
He traveled nearly 5,000 miles from Alaska to Fort Lauderdale. But after interviewing Santiago for hours, investigators said they have no clear answer to the question: Why did he come to Fort Lauderdale to carry out his rampage?
"The early indication is that there was no specific reason why he chose Fort Lauderdale International Airport,"... said George L. Piro, the special agent in charge of the FBI in South Florida.
"Indications are he came here to carry out this horrific attack. We have not identified any triggers that would have caused this attack but again it's very early in the investigation," Piro said.

Santiago thinks he will persuade the judge to release him on bond at his court hearing Monday-11AM ! (When pigs fly.)
He will likely go before a federal grand jury in Ft. Lauderdale after he is charged in the weeks or months to come.
After his mental health eval. and hospitalization, they returned his gun to him.
I think he was on his way to assassinate you know who
How far away is Mar-a-Lago?
“Esteban Santiago planned airport killings, investigators say.”
And the rest of us didn’t need to be “investigators” to figure this out.
Sheesh...
Speedy trial. Speedier execution.
“...could get the death penalty....”
Are you fricken’ kddin’ me...Could????
This POS needs to be taken out and hung now, then buried in a pig’s carcass for all to see.
Don’t be silly, it’s more than an hour away. He picked the wrong airport . And #45 is back in NYC.

DUH
Quick trial.
Quick execution date.
Quick extermination of this human rodent.
Next!
He went to one of the remaining rigidly monitored kill zones with no probability of being stopped.
The word ‘planned’ is utilized because there was speculation that he became angry in flight with other passengers and went to retaliate or finish the argument at the baggage claim.
Obviously, that’s not the case. It was all premeditated days in advance.
I wonder why he picked Ft. Lauderdale airport?
Aren’t there a lot of Jewish retirees there?
This guy should have been on the no fly list as soon as he told the FBI he was being forced to fight for ISIS. Other people are on it for much weaker reasons.

My thoughts also. You just can’t get much past our security establishment. /s
Florida used to know how to do it. When a crazy guy tried to kill President-Elect FDR and killed Mayor Cermack instead on February 15, 1933, Florida managed to execute him on the 20th of March, 1933. Kind of hard to believe now.
This is turning into a coverup.
He had a one-way ticket. He wasn’t planning to return.
Florida has murderers on death row who committed their crimes in the 1960’s and ‘70’s. Speedy would be maybe 2050 or so.
If he was gay or had mental issues then it wasn’t terrorism. /s
