Reality-Based Climate Forecasting

These days, even shipwreck museums showcase evidence of climate change.

After diving recently among Key West’s fabled ship-destroying barrier reefs, I immersed myself in exhibits from the Nuestra Senora de Atocha, the fabled Spanish galleon that foundered during a ferocious hurricane in 1622. The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum now houses many of the gold, silver, emeralds and artifacts that Mel and Deo Fisher’s archeological team recovered after finding the wreck in 1985.

Also featured prominently in the museum is the wreck of a British slave ship, the Henrietta Marie. It sank in a hurricane off Key West in 1700, after leaving 190 Africans in Jamaica, to be sold as slaves.

As Fisher divers excavated the Henrietta wreck, at 40 feet below the sea surface they found – not just leg shackles and other grim artifacts from that horrific era – but charred tree branches, pine cones and other remnants from a forest fire 8,400 years ago! The still resinous smelling fragments demonstrate that this area (like all other coastal regions worldwide) was well above sea level, before the last ice age ended and melting glaciers slowly raised oceans to their current level: 400 feet higher than during the frigid Pleistocene, when an enormous portion of Earth’s seawater was locked up in glaciers. Climate change has clearly been “real” throughout earth and human history. The question is, exactly how and how much do today’s human activities affect local, regional or global climate and weather?

Charred tree remains and pine cones? Under 40 feet of water? How can that be? It's never been warmer than yesterday in the entire history of the planet. And what perchance lived where the redwoods live now before they started growing? Now that (despite what jojo biden thinks) adults will be in charge for a while, maybe an actual discussion will take place using ALL available date instead of only using data that pushes certain peoples agenda. That would be nice. But, they don't play nice do they.

The fact that much of Arizona was under water, or the glaciers that moved down into Pennsylvania, or that the dinosaurs are gone are all proof of climate change... but I doubt that man had much influence over it.

Yes.. I wish they could explain to me how the constant movement in the location of the Magnetic North Pole which is the axis of the core of the earth is changed my man. It definitely impact our weather and magnetosphere around earth!

Yeah, can someone of these assclowns ‘splain to me the inland seas here in NV and the great basin where some ickysaurous or something lived? Waiting......................... If ya really want to confuse them and leave them stuttering just drop these on them:

1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet.

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

Old meme: “Everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it.” Uh, because currently, we can’t. Buck Rogers in the future, maybe. Whatever happened to the idea of setting off small nukes in hurricanes anyway? LOL!

exactly how and how much do today’s human activities affect local, regional or global climate and weather?

Whatever the answer to that is, the solution is to elect more Democrats. Let them control the economy. Is it too hot? Vote Democrat. Is it too cold? Vote Democrat. Do you feel bad about the weather, or uncertain about the weather, is the surf rolling in when it should be rolling out or out when it should be in? Vote Democrat.

We’re in dire need of both climate realism AND race realism.

Or simply a reality based culture rather than the garbage being pushed by academia that you can make up reality as it suits you. That’s called delusion.

I Imagine it will be something like:

“Folks, we don’t know what the hell we are doing- We lied- Yes- you heard it right- We lied- There isn’t nearly enough CO2 in the atmosphere to do what we told you it was doing- We made it up because we were damned greedy- plain and simple- can you forgive us?”

---I was amused a couple of months ago by a tale of some lifeboats left behind from one of the earliest Arctic expeditions having melted out of the ice and being touted by the warmists as evidence--

-they having ignored the fact that it also indicated the extent of ice in the 1870's---
