President-elect Donald Trump reacted to recent reports that he had asked Congress for funding for the wall on the southern border.
“The dishonest media does not report that any money spent on building the Great Wall (for sake of speed), will be paid back by Mexico later!” he wrote on Twitter.
This is not the first time that Trump has detailed his plan to have Mexico repay the United States for the wall.
“Mexico is paying for the wall, with the full understanding that the country of Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such a wall, OK?” he said during an October 22 speech
During the campaign, Trump revealed in a memo to the Washington Post some ideas for getting Mexico to pay. He proposed threatening to block wire money transfers to Mexico from people who were not legally in the United States. Mexico receives approximately $24 billion a year from the U.S. in wire transfers.

Better to get is done quickly, and charge Mexico over time.
Surely don’t stall it waiting for Mexico to publicly send a check.
Seems to me that this has been his agenda all along and has already moved in that direction. He’s a businessman, not a politician. Therein lies a communication issue.
This idea will likely work. Mexico can either help pay or we’ll impose a tariff on them.

This explains why Mexico is rioting over gas prices not being subsidized anymore and the peso crashing. The free ride they’ve enjoyed literally for decades is ending.
The Tax on Remittances to Mexico ALONE should take care of it.

Almost all construction projects are financed by a bank and Donald Trump knows that as he has been involved in countless huge construction projects.
The Wall is no different.
The American taxpayer will finance the Wall, very likely at an interest rate of 4.25% and Mexico, over the next 30 years will pay back the mortgage to the American people.
