"While, in theory, HR 11 is a strong verbal condemnation of the UN’s anti-Israel resolution, it does nothing to punish the UN for its repeated attacks on Israel in practice. The bill, for example, does not call for defunding the UN and appears, instead, to be more symbolic than anything else."

The House of Representatives passes a "symbolic" bill that does nothing.

Posturing rather than useful action seems to be preferred path.

While almost all the Repubs voted for this bill almost half the Dems voted against Israel. Fake Pallies are very popular for their killing Israelis in the Dem Party.

All last year Pallies did the same thing to Israelis, run them down on sidewalks like the did at Christmas in EU.
Using trucks to kill Jews was practice for killing Christians enjoying their beautiful holiday.

I hope Jews who vote for Dems all the time look at how GOP voted for Israel vs. Dems who are almost siding with terrorists, paid killers of PLO and Hamas

In a couple of weeks Trump will be President, and as such will set foreign policy. That will be the time for Congress to take substantive action, in consultation with the President. This may be symbolic, but it does tell the UN "This isn't over."

But for once, a symbolic vote might be for the good. When will it get to the President’s desk, and which President? (assuming the squishes in the Senate move it forward) It might portend future moves to defund the UN if we are lucky.

Just verbal flatulence from the speaker which means NOTHING. Actions should have consequences and the consequence should be cutting off all funds form the UN, ejecting them from US soil, and withdrawing totally from the UN.

Then try to set up a better balanced organization, FREE of the influence of Alger Hiss.

The UN gives undue authority and power to inconsequential third world countries, it allows undue influence and membership by nations which are horrendous human rights violators, and it seeks to interfere with American sovereignty by abridging our Constitutional Rights. Any organization that does not recognize human rights as reflected in OUR bill of rights - like the UN - is unworthy of support or participation in.
