Bristol County Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson is offering to ship his inmates off to the southern border to help President-elect Donald Trump build a massive wall.
“We need to turn this country around and put law and order back in place,” Hodgson told the Herald last night.
He’s proposing to send “eight to 10” inmates with a guard to help build a wall along the Mexican border. He said he has sent his pitch to Trump’s transition team. And, he added, he’s been told by other sheriffs across the country they are ready to join in.

No to illegals working on the Wall too. The Wall is a statement of our desire to defend our borders - honest Americans should build it as an act of pride in their country.
I’d rather see the work being done by professionals who need the work than inmates who have no incentive to do the work.
Many would pay top dollar to watch the Clintons, Bushes, and Obama family members build that wall on our border. Perhaps we can get Matt Bracken to make a collage of sorts...
And we could add Holder, Jarrett, Lynch, Axelrod, Emmanuel and so many others to the mix.
How many of those inmates are illegals? Its not difficult to imagine the integrity of that wall being compromised when paroled illegal inmates work to undermine it.
I imagine quite a few. It’s Bristol county, home to Fall River and New Bedford.
Off topic, but insight requested: How does one contact the Trump transition team? I searched it by "contact Trump transition team" but all I get are CNN, NYT and WaComPost articles that have no contact info in them.
Try “Trump Transition Team Contact Information” in Bing and I believe that is a legit website in the first reply. It is a .gov link.
