Trump Slams Delay in Russian Hacking 'Intelligence' Briefing
Newsmax ^ | 4 Jan 2017

Posted on 01/04/2017 6:42:51 AM PST by mandaladon

President-elect Donald Trump said the "intelligence" briefing he was to have with Obama administration officials was moved to Friday — noting "perhaps more time needed to build a case."

"Very strange!" Trump said Tuesday on Twitter:

Trump said Friday he would meet this week with intelligence officials to discuss Russian hacking after he came under fire for praising President Vladimir Putin for not retaliating after President Barack Obama expelled 35 Kremlin diplomats and closed two compounds because of hacking by Moscow.

The president-elect has long questioned U.S. intelligence information on Russian hacking and Moscow's involvement in the November election.

"It's time for our country to move on to bigger and better things," Trump said in the Friday statement. "Nevertheless, in the interest of our country and its great people, I will meet with leaders of the intelligence community next week in order to be updated on the facts of this situation."

Both President Obama and Democrat Hillary Clinton have scored Russia for hacking into the Democratic National Committee and other party operatives and for meddling in the election.

In addition, former CIA Director James Woolsey said Tuesday he was not sure whether Trump would make any announcement after the intelligence briefing.

"I would leave it up to his people that work on press statements and so forth to carry that information," Woolsey, who a Trump national security adviser, told Anderson Cooper on CNN. "I don't know."

Probably the intel chiefs are telling Obama they can’t build an ironclad case, and Barry is throwing a screaming fit.

Those who lie to Trump in this briefing, when it happens, will no doubt be expecting to be fired in a couple weeks.

I thought our 17, yes that is right, intelligence agencies issued a 13 page, “How to do Cyber Security” manual last week. Strong recommendation not to use “password” as your password like John Pedosta. There is no case, no link to Putin. Get over it.

The CIA is working on hacking Trump. It’s tougher than they thought.

Maybe he is right to distrust them. Their mistakes on WMD’s gave the opposition multiple weapons thatwere used that caused distrust in the Republican’s effort to conduct the war in Iraq, which we are paying for today. There were WMDs there, but because the intel was dispersed poorly, it caused a lot of problems.

Brennan is Obama’s most devoted acolyte. Obama commissars control the CIA. It will take Trump a very long time to clean out that agency and make it functional again.

Not to mention the fact that Brennan, the CIA Head, and Johnson, the DHS head, are both Democrat operatives with a well-deserved reputation for lying. Clapper is no better—remember when he lied to us about NSA surveillance of the American people? Why would we trust any of them now?

Allahpundit seems to think Trump is full of it.

Maybe the briefing with U.S. intelligence was originally scheduled for tomorrow and, now that it’s been delayed, Trump felt obliged to delay his own announcement until after he’s heard them out? (Intel officials tell CNN that there was never a briefing scheduled for today.) Presumably he’ll be ready to say something on Friday or Saturday, assuming he ends up saying anything at all.

Their information should be up=-to-date minute-by-minute.

What are they going to do before now and friday?

CIA Director John Brennan told PBS Newshour Tuesday that his report on Russian hacking was in the "final throes" and would be delivered to President Obama in days.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~This means that Obama took action against Russia without having a final report on the issue

That shouldn’t prevent him from providing the information that he has, which he referred to over the weekend, and which he promised to release yesterday or today.

You got that right. Obama apparently knew enough to cause a diplomatic incident with Russia, but not enough to brief the future POTUS, who will have to deal with whatever happened or did not happen...
