I just was wondering. Are there any contemporary accounts of the Jews in Egypt. I know they recovered the name Moses, from some writing. They name had been erased or they tried to X over it but that is the only thing I have ever read.

It may be that it was real dark in there and they needed all those candles. Someone was kind enough to suggest this is what is need here if you want to get some water...... : )

Alongside the cistern is a columbarium (pictured below) with dozens of niches that were used to raise doves in antiquity. During the Second Temple period doves were used as part of the sacrificial rites in the Temple.

Near Jerusalem? Or early homing or racing pigeons?
