UK grocer cuts women's razor cost to match men's
WSET-TV ^ | 1/2/16 | Elizabeth Tyree

Britain's biggest supermarket chain is cutting the cost of its female razors to match the same product sold to men.

Tesco said it had come under pressure from British lawmaker Paula Sherriff after it was found to charge twice as much for pink disposable twin-blade razors as blue ones.

The products are identical excepts for color and price.

Tesco had defended the pricing by arguing that it sells many more men's razors, making it easier to keep prices low.

Sorry, but there’s confusion here about the distinction between Parliament and Government.
A Member of Parliament is only a member of the government if he/she holds a ministerial post in the current executive, which is formed by the largest party in Parliament. All other ordinary MPs (600+ of them) are no more part of government than ordinary members of the House of Representatives are part of the current US government. In this case, it’s simply a private individual making publicity about a pet cause.
Paula Sheriff is a Labour MP, not a member of the ruling Conservative Party, so is miles away from government. Because she happens to be an MP she gets the attention of the media. But it’s not Government business, not even Parliamentary business.

Gillette Fusion blades are $27.75 for 12 blades.
https://www.amazon.com/Gillette-Fusion-Manual-Razor-Refills/dp/B004B8AZH0

I use the blades for about a month and use Schick Hydro Sensitive Skin Shave Gel.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J5J22E4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Clean the blade good after each use.

They cost .10 to make I bet.

You are being much too literal in your interpretation. I see by your flag logo that you may be located in the UK, or a UK citizen. There are significant differences between the way that American English is used and understood vs. British English, and perhaps that is at play here.

All other ordinary MPs (600+ of them) are no more part of government than ordinary members of the House of Representatives are part of the current US government.

'Ordinary' members of the US House of Representatives are indeed part of the current US government.

From http://www.house.gov/content/learn/ for example, As per the Constitution, the U.S. House of Representatives makes and passes federal laws. The House is one of Congress’s two chambers (the other is the U.S. Senate), and part of the federal government’s legislative branch."

Instead, you are attempting, unsuccessfully, to argue that only "the Executive Branch" of the US government is, colloquially, "the government". You are also claiming that the MP is not part of 'the UK Government', but that was not at all the intent or the actual substance of the discussion here. Rather, a colloquial usage of 'small g' government is what is going on here. Neither I nor SoFloFreeper capitalized the 'G' as in' Government'.

Because she happens to be an MP she gets the attention of the media. But it’s not Government business, not even Parliamentary business.

Nobody claimed that this occurred as "Government business" or "Parliamentary business". Rather, the claim was "government involvement" which is surely what we see here.

Because they’ll pay it. You charge as much as the market can bare. Men are a lot more likely to decide that’s too much and look elsewhere than women. So women’s versions of things are more expensive.

The thing I can’t understand is that men’s razors have become so metro-sexualized with all this extreme close-cutting, lubrication, pivoting an all that.

I’ve been using Bic razors about as long as I can remember. Used to buy them for about a dollar a bag.

You use Bic? I don't know, sounds kind of Nancyboy to me.

Why don't you shave like a man?

Just don't start wearing a fur coat and carrying a purse, I mean, European men's hand bag.

I suspect the Russians had involvement here. We don’t have any proof but trust me, you just know they did it. /liberal logic
