Seems to be a reasonable assessment.

Before anyone thinks he "gets it":

"We should be breaking bread with each other, and finding common ground whenever possible. I fear that is not at all what we've done."

And Bourdain does not hide the fact that he will not eat at any of Trump’s new restaurants at his D.C. hotel, nor would he dine with the president-elect.

“Absolutely f---ing not,” he replied on the question of dining with the president-elect.

There is a difference between a ruling elite in the country as suffered in communist China with the communist party and elitists as we suffer in America.

Elitists are bigots who fancy themselves superior over others they target as their inferiors. They are bullies like all bigots. They can, however, end up being mobbed by their targets and bloodied and intimidated quite well. They have no office nor real authority to protect them in the end. They are self anointed.

Hopefully not only some Americans are waking up to the scams shoved down on us by the elite here and around the world.

Nassim Taleb Exposes The World’s “Intellectual-Yet-Idiot” Class, who have ruled America for too many decades.

What we have been seeing worldwide, from India to the UK to the US, is the rebellion against the inner circle of no-skin-in-the-game policymaking “clerks” and journalists-insiders, that class of paternalistic semi-intellectual experts with some Ivy league, Oxford-Cambridge, or similar label-driven education who are telling the rest of us 1) what to do, 2) what to eat, 3) how to speak, 4) how to think… and 5) who to vote for.

But the problem is the one-eyed following the blind: these self-described members of the “intelligenzia” can’t find a coconut in Coconut Island, meaning they aren’t intelligent enough to define intelligence and fall into circularities?—?but their main skills is capacity to pass exams written by people like them. With psychology papers replicating less than 40%, dietary advice reversing after 30 years of fatphobia, macroeconomic analysis working worse than astrology, the appointment of Bernanke who was less than clueless of the risks, and pharmaceutical trials replicating at best only 1/3th of the time, people are perfectly entitled to rely on their own ancestral instinct and listen to their grandmothers (or Montaigne and such filtered classical knowledge) with a better track record than these policymaking goons.

Didn’t Anthony recently say he is considering leaving the US because Trump won? He isn’t much different himself. He’s an arrogant libtard just like the rest of them.

For liberals the time to talk with conservatives was 20 years ago, 8 years ago, even 4 years ago. Now is the time to pay. That is our mood, we could not care less about what liberals think anymore.

Some of them are getting it.

That may be encouraging.

There might be hope they will become conservative.

Leftists are starting to understand - Clinton, Obama and their beloved nanny-statists are really just oligarchs and crony-capitalists, manipulating America’s increasingly debt-ridden society, and narrowing wealth for their own advantage.

They are also war-mongers, given the fact that obama and clinton have caused utter destruction in Libya, Syria, launched wars in Egypt, Ukraine and Crimea and caused the largest refugee/migrant crisis in Europe since WWII.

Some are starting to realize “hope and change” is a farce.

There isn’t a liberal alive who isn’t convinced that they are morally and intellectually superior to middle America. And the people just got sick of it.

Bourdain also criticized HBO political talk show host Bill Maher as "the worst of the smug, self-congratulatory left. . ."

Bourdain may not have made as many snide remarks about Republicans on his show(s) as Maher but I think that's only because he doesn't get a similar number of opportunities on a food and travel show as Maher gets. But that's not for the lack of trying; I've seen him force plenty of snide comments in out of the blue.
