Democrats fret over identity politics in Trump era
MSN ^ | 12/30/2016

Donald Trump’s White House victory, fueled in part by nativist rhetoric, has exposed schisms over race in the Democratic Party, as minority lawmakers worry the party will abandon its diverse constituency in the hunt to win back working-class whites.

Several members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the former head of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, and activists who work with both groups cautioned in interviews against turning away from the coalition that helped President Obama win two terms.

“By focusing in on, primarily, the white middle and working class, and by taking for granted the black working class or the black underclass, the party will add an arm and lose a body,” said Representative Bobby Rush, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus from Chicago. “The black vote is the foundation of the Democratic Party and we won’t be taken for granted.”

The Democrats’ internal debate over identity politics, and how much to prioritize issues of race, has been fueled by some prominent congressional Democrats who called on the party to develop a retooled, economics-first message specifically targeting white working-class voters — the group some analysts deemed responsible for Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton.

“[Clinton] should have won this election by 10 percentage points,” Senator Bernie Sanders, the independent from Vermont who challenged Clinton in the Democratic primary, said after the general election. “The question is: Why is it that millions of white working-class people who voted for [President] Obama turned their backs on the Democratic Party?”

The data back up Sanders’ point. Compared to Obama in 2012, Clinton fared significantly worse among white voters in Pennsylvania, Iowa, Ohio, Wisconsin, and Michigan — and lost all four states. In the latter two states, Clinton received only 42 percent and 36 percent of the white vote, respectively...

Maybe, just maybe working class Americans care about things like jobs and crime and national security a lot more than what color their skin is, or what party their demographic is supposed to vote for.

Maybe we’re all Americans.

Identity politics is immoral, divisive, discriminatory and elitist.

Understand that identity politics must be universal if it is to be legitimate; not reserved for certain demographics and off limits for others. It cannot be that fashionable identity politics represent progress and unfashionable identity politics represent racism. Call people racists long enough and they will come to embrace it.

Since President Johnson signed the bills to initiate “The Great Society”, the Democrats(Black and White) have taken the black voting class for granted. Look up Johnson’s quote while signing these bills. It won’t surprise you and will show you what Democrats really believe about Blacks.

These people are racists while screaming racist at everyone else.

The Democrat Party needs to rid itself of the Black racist, Congressional Black Caucus and it affilation with the the Black racist, NAACP!!! Both organizations are poison for the welfare adn progress of all African-Americans for too many reasons to list here. POTUS, Barack Hussein Obama has done more damage to African-Americans then all the White racists combined!!! Wise up Democrat dummies!!! You had your opportunity...and, you blew it with your hate, riots, cop killing and racism!!! End of story!!!

Me too. I want them to always get that almost 12% of the population, every election, at the expense of the rest of it.

I hope they double down on stupid.

With Keith Ellison in charge of the DNC, they'll be laying down all their cards on the table, betting that they can alienate every last white voter between Los Angeles and NYC and still compete nationally.

A better question would be how did Obama win in 2012 with a lackluster recovery and Obamacare a flop.

They’re not even identifying as Americans. There should be no CBC or CHC. These caucuses should be abolished.

Why is it that millions of white working-class people who voted for [President] Obama turned their backs on the Democratic Party?”

Bern, it’s because they have had 8 years to understand
what that vote really cost them. A stagnant recovery,
transexual bathrooms, a smothering blanket of new
regulations and enough PC to drown a horse.

Remember, price is a one time thing.
Cost is a long time thing, and they are not the same.

Atty General Sessions should consider this effort, and its contributors, as a collusive plan to overthrow a duly-certified US government elected "by the people."

Obama raising war chest to 'fight' Trump w/ Democrats
The Washington Examiner ^ | December 16, 2016 | Paul Bedard / FR Posted by kevcol

In a fundraising email sent a week before Christmas, he says, "Help Democrats fight back. Stand with me, work with me, let's finish what we started."

===========================================

CONTACT CONGRESS: American demand to know Obama's contributors ....and demand they be investigated for colluding to overthrow the duly-elected and certified government of the United States.

================================================

Trump and Sessions MUST close down every single one of these tax-free "identity" organizations and foundations raising money to overthrow the US govt.

FIRST---Instruct the IRS to pull their tax-free status.

THEN---Prosecute them all for aiding and abetting the overthrow of the US govt.

The reality is nobody coud give a hoot about hat Democrats think. All of the input they THINK they're gonna have is DOA.

As one savvy Freeper noted: "civilized people cannot live side by side with liberals. To put it bluntly, liberals are demented and dangerous."
