Off-Broadway "Avenue Q" Show has Total Disrespect to Donald Trump (Just like Pence?)

I just finished watching the off-Broadway show of "Avenue Q"

When you first walk in, the lighting control panel just of to the right has a very visible bumper sticker attached it that says "With Donald Trump as President I am going to start smoking crack" in red/white and blue.

It is a weird bumper sticker. Meant to be disrespectful to DJT but made me laugh at the idiot controlling the lighting.

At the end of the play the song "For Now" is sung to show how all bad things are temporary. And of course, they had to sing:

Only for now, sex Is only for now, your hair Is only for now, Donald Trump Is only for now

I know it's off-Broadway.

And I know I voluntarily paid for (discounted!) tickets

And I know that industry is full of kooks and left wing wackos.

But can't they just shut up politically and SING?

Also - with the song "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist" - I am sure BLM heads are exploding.

And Trump and Pence are going to be around for 18 years.

And with the size of the crowd at the play (maybe 75% full with lots of discount tickets), they are not going to last another year.

FYI - funny play at many times. And many times very un-PC.

Look up the play "MacBird" from 1964.

This POS show WAS once on Broadway and was pushing...HARD...the QUEER AGENDA.

Why you went to see this garbage, discount tickets or not, is YOUR stupid fault! It has ALWAYS been a faaaaaaaaaaaaaar lefty show.....puppet "theatre" for brain dead arsehole lefties is all it was and evidently still is.

I understand what you say, still why patronize these sophomoric morons?

If all conservatives/republican would simply boycott this crap, including all their sponsors, in time they will get the message.

The left is so much better at activism than we are. That’s how they’ve gotten all the major companies so scared to death of their boycotts and disruptive protests, that they have become totally subservient to them.

It’s a type of social and economic terrorism and it’s extremely effective!

Rent was also a painful experience.

I think that that line in the ‘For Now’ song is always the current President.

I admit I also saw rent back in the day.

As an engineer, I was like why don’t you all get jobs and pay the damn rent?

No drama!

Good lord, why would you go to a place like that? Don’t you care about your reputation?

“For Now” always had “George Bush” during his presidency. I’m not sure if they inserted “Obama” the last 8 years, but I strongly doubt it.

Why on earth did you go to see that POS ?

DOESN'T ANYONE, BUT ME, HERE, FIND OUT ABOUT THE PLAYS THEY BUY TICKETS FOR, BEFORE PURCHASING THEM?

I damned near walked out of THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, several decades ago. But I knew the story well, knew and approved of some of the cast members, even knew that the audience got to pick the ending. WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW, WHAT WHAT A POS STINKER THE PLAY AND FORGETTABLE MUSIC WERE. I had read the reviews, which were dead WRONG, as I found out.

Our "current president" is Barack Hussein Obama.

That depends on you. I saw the movie ( the play is a "musical" version of the movie and no, I don't know if the music is any good ) and LOVED it; it's cute. I have NO idea if the play is any good, though.

Frankly, there has been NOTHING at all to see on Broadway or off/off off/etc. in many decades now; it's all be utter and complete crap! And this is from someone who comes from a family, who for multiple generations, were crazy about the theatre, went all of the time, and who, from an extremely young age, was taken to the theatre; not to mention the fact that I did two summers of SUMMER STOCK, when I was in college. ;^)

Don't know much about that show, but NOT a topic I care anything at all about.

Nobody can write a book anymore, nor music, and actors and actresses can't act and they MUNBLE; not to mention the fact that they can't project and have to be wired up/voice enhanced electronically.

After thousands of years, the theatre is just about completely dead; sadly. Even the revivals of good plays, don't make it any more...due, again, to people who are now supposedly "stars", but whom wouldn't get hired, when compared to high schoolers of the '50s' performances.

We were given tickets, and I admit to not knowing what it was about.

I recall giving most of my attention to the musicians which were pretty good.
