Remind Mr. Zulu of Unit 731, Japan’s nefarious medical unit which performed despicable experiments on war captives during WWII. Their deeds are just as evil and nefarious as the Nazi medical units, but you never hear about them from the revisionists who write of our world’s history.

I have absolutely no sympathy for Japanese of today claiming ANY victimhood during WWII. They need to STFU and take what God gave them and thank their lucky stars they weren’t erased from this earth altogether.

Did George complain about Obama’s deals with Iran?

As a sidebar, a good number of scientists involved with the “Manhattan Project” were fine withe nuking white Germans, but objected to bombing the Japs because of their race ...

Hiroshima was retaliation for the unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor.

We lost friends and family at Pearl, too.

He didn’t seem to have a problem with nukes when he was campaigning for Clinton and Clinton was promising an inevitably (and possibly immediate) nuclear conflict with Russia.

Exactly, people forget that the Japanese back then made ISIS look like the teddy bear club. The Japs did stuff to people even ISIS finds too sick, they were absolute devils from hell, bayoneting babies, mass rape, skinning people alive, beheadings were the norm and to top it all off they would rather die than surrender or be taken prisoner. So it was either we allow hundred of thousands of more US vets die through operation downfall: The invasion of Japan, or we unleash the ultimate in hell against them which was the nukes. People like Sulu don’t understand: If there was an invasion of Japan, MILLIONS would have been killed, so those bombs saved lives!

OK Mr Sulu. My father was US Navy in the Pacific. And he is more likely to have survived because of Hiroshima. Otherwise I wouldn’t be here. So there

I figure there were two other choices. We could have invaded the home island or lay siege to it and starve them into submission. I posit that the atomic option had the least cost in human lives.

I wonder if would prefer losing family to starvation rather than a nuclear blast.

Boo F’n Hoo. 2 bombs didn’t do as much damage as the 1000+ bombing raids did to Germany. We lost family there, we had cousins bombing their own cousins. Dead is dead, whether by a stone or a Nuke. Mankind is unkind to itself, nothing will change, it will only get worse, if we are lucky we’ll survive, if not, we’ll become a statistic. As sad as it may sound, its life here on earth. Now take your complaint to little Kim in North Korea.

Dropping the bomb saved more lives, including Japanese ones, than not dropping it. Dip sh**! And I agree with an earlier post. Why does a bit part, grade B actors opinion matter?

There are many fine soldiers still alive from WWII who’s opinion I’d read and savor 100x’s more!

Doesn’t George want to have a standoff with Russia? I bet he’s all for our shady dealings with Iran as well!

AFAIK, Mr. Trump never referred to them as a "game". He views them as a deterrent, which I think is the correct perspective. Given the weakening of the strategic posture of the US military over the last few decades, beefing up the arsenal (with emphasis on reliability) is probably in order. A few (not too many) underground tests would also be a good way of assuring that what we have will work if needed, and send a message that we are serious about maintaining a credible deterrent.

As far as Hiroshima goes, Trump wasn't in command back then, but those who were judged that the atom bomb was a weapon to be used to bring the war to a decisive conclusion in our favor as quickly as possible, thereby avoiding untold further bloodshed on both sides. Hard to argue with that. Its been said there is only one good thing about war, and that is it ends. Hiroshima and Nagasaki did that, in our favor, which should be the goal.
