Vladimir the merciful?
Following this morning's reports that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov would recommend to Russian President Vladimir Putin a retaliation in kind, and expel 35 American diplomats, saying that we cannot leave such acts unanswered. Reciprocity is part of diplomatic law" with Putin spokesman Peskov adding that "there is no doubt that Russia's adequate and mirror response will make Washington officials feel very uncomfortable as well", it was ultimately up to Putin to decide how to respond to the US.
Which he did on Friday morning, when in a stunning reversal, the Russian leader took the high road, and in a Kremlin statement said that, contrary to expectations, Russia wont expel any Americans in retaliation to US moves, in a brutal demonstration of just how irrelevant Obama's 11th hour decision is for US-Russian relations.
In the statement Putin said that Russia wont cause problems to U.S. diplomats or deport anyone, adding that Russia has the right to respond in tit-for-tat manner, but it will not engage in irresponsible diplomacy.
The punchline, however, was saved for what may be Russia's final slam of the debacle that is Obama's administration saying that "Its a pity that the current U.S. administration is finishing their work in such a manner" saying that Russia refuses "to sink to the level of this irresponsible "kitchen" diplomacy."
Putin ended the statement by congratulating U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, and the American people on the New Year and invited the children of US diplomats to a holiday celebration at the Kremlin.

Putin continues to make Obama and the democrats look like the childish fools that they are...
Well played, Pootie-poo, well played.
So when is it again that there will be adults in charge?
Like him or not you cannot deny that Putin is one solid leader and this classy move of restraint just told the whole world that Obama is not relevant and is a spoiled brat. Looks like Putin is marking the days on the calendar till Jan 20 like the rest of us.
Brilliant stroke from Pooty-poot.
Almost makes me forget the three initials “K”, “G” and “B”.
Obambi continues to show he is a toddler trying to upstage real men
Well played putin
Obama is just a boy. And that boy better get on home.
When O goes low P goes high.
I have lived long enough to (in this instance) favor a communist over our own POTUS.
He would not have done this if HRC were PEOTUS. Putin knows he has a worthy adversary in Trump, and worthy adversaries can do business, even and especially government business, all the while warily guarding themselves from each other. He’s counting the days, just as are the rest of us (thank you, Lazamataz).
Priceless! Putin may be a thug, but boy he sure has played the man boy Obama like a piano.
The topper,Putin inviting our diplomats to a party at the Kremlin! Thanks Vladimir, for this New Year take down of our Traitor in chief
Obama is a pissed off little boy ever since he (and HIllary) was utterly and humiliatingly repudiated by the voters of this country for Trump. He is taking this as an egregious slap at his so-called legacy and he is lashing out anywhere he can.
I fervently hope and pray that whatever his legacy is that it is ERASED and UNDONE. He should be a lesson to us all - One Big Ass Mistake, America.

I predicted he would do this. Putin is a master. In one swoop he makes Obama look like the amateur he is.
He assumes that Trump will overturn Obama’s order once he is president.
LOL that's gonna leave a mark! Putin knows just how to push ObeyMe's buttons. It's like watching an adult with a hand on a kid's head while the kid yells and swings his arms in a futile attempt to hit the adult. You just have to laugh.
More likely he has been so reassured.
