CHRISTIANS are the most persecuted religious group in the world with more than 90,000 killed in 2016 because of their faith, a leading religious study group director has claimed.
Speaking on Vatican Radio, Massimo Introvigne, Director of the Centre for Studies on New Religions (CESNUR), said more than 60,000 of the Christians killed this year were murdered in tribal conflicts in Africa.
He claimed these deaths often came after Christians refused to take up arms for reasons of conscience.
The religious chief said: "The other 30 per cent, or 27,000, were killed in terror attacks, the destruction of Christian villages, or government persecution.
Around half a billion Christians are unable to freely express their faith, according to Mr Introvigne, although Christianity is expected to retain its place as the worlds biggest religion.

No way! /s
Oh forget it
Jeff Session will handle it
Atheists say differently.
Could have told them that. Only takes reading the Bible to know this.
Hindus kill Christians in India, and and not infrequently.
This Christ Follower sold his cloak and bought a sword....
I will never surrender my right to life, liberty and the protection of my family.....if I did, I’d be worse than an infidel.
Oh, wait, in todays PC speak, I am one.....
I’m a Christian, and follow the whole role. But I take issue with the passivity we are asked to demonstrate. If they hit us we are supposed to “love” them. That part of Christianity I totally reject. What happened during the Crusades? This passive religion of ours today is gonna’ get us killed in the face of Islam. As a religion, we better start re-interpreting certain sections of the bible and wake up or die.
Have a look at what is happening in India. While not as widespread as muhamedan violence and persecution against Christians, Hindu persecution of Christians is certainly not declining under the BJP, the ruling party in India. The BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) has close organisational and ideological links to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), both advocating 'Hindu Nationalism'. The 'Dharm Jagran Samiti' (DJS) is a wing of the RSS.
The Daily Mail reported on December 18, 2014, that the leader of the DJS in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in India, Rajeshwar Singh stated, "Our target is to make India a Hindu Rashtra by 2021. The Muslims and Christians dont have any right to stay here. So they would either be converted to Hinduism or forced to run away from here,. (Emphasis is mine)
Here is a link to 'Open Doors USA', a Christian organisation that highlights persecution of Christians around the world, including India. While it is 17th on their list of countries with the highest persecution of Christians, the other 16 are N. Korea followed by 14 mohamedan countries and Kenya, which, though Christian majority, is controlled by the muhamedan minority.
The bottom line is, satan hates Christians because they acknowledge and confess the Jesus of the Bible, as Saviour, Lord and God, so satan convinces others to persecute Christians. Even in the US, just look at the Mountain Meadows massacre where members of Smith's cult killed hundreds of innocent American citizens. The good news is Christianity grows under persecution. Unfortunately, where it is no recent persecution, it tends to grow soft and give way, as has/is happening in Europe, the US, Canada, NZ, Australia, etc.
” If they hit us we are supposed to love them.”
I think you are mistaken about your faith. We are allowed self-defense at personal, family, community and national level.
What we should not be doing though, is going into Moslem countries (esp the more secular ones) which did not attack us (eg. Libya, Syria, arguably Iraq) and inflicting collateral damage on their civilian populations. We have the opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with these people.
Leftists across the land will be rioting and/or holding vigils, I’m sure.
Is a /sarc really needed?
Good post.
I found this all to be quite surprising and interesting...particularly coming from a Rabbi and his congregation.
A Christian can usually avoid persecution by leaving the Christian religion. That kind of option is not available to a Jew.
