A couple of years ago I went to see Mark Steyn speak at a synagogue near me.Before Steyn came to the podium the congregation's Rabbi spoke for about 10 minutes. He was an excellent speaker and obviously quite conservative politically (and I thought all Jews were "progressives").He touched upon religious violence/persecution in the world and asked the audience at one point which religious group was most persecuted in the world.A man with a yalmaka (? spelling) raised his hand and answered "Christians"...to which the Rabbi responded "exactly".

I found this all to be quite surprising and interesting...particularly coming from a Rabbi and his congregation.

A Christian can usually avoid persecution by leaving the Christian religion. That kind of option is not available to a Jew.
