MOSCOW--A Russian military plane with 92 people on board has crashed into the Black Sea on its way to Syria, Russian news agencies reported on Sunday, and it was unlikely there would be any survivors.
Russian agencies, citing unnamed security sources, said the TU-154 aircraft had crashed in the sea near the southern Russian city of Sochi after disappearing from radar screens.
The plane was carrying Russian servicemen and members of a renowned military choir and dance ensemble, the Alexandrov Ensemble, who were being flown into Russia's Hmeymim air base in Syria to entertain military personnel in the run-up to the new year, the RIA news agency quoted the Defence Ministry as saying.
The plane was carrying 84 passengers and eight crew members, agencies quoted the ministry as saying. Nine Russian reporters were among the passengers, agencies said.
Fragments of the plane have already been found at a depth of 50-70 metres at a distance of around 1.5 kilometres (0.93 miles)from the Russian coast, agencies reported. . .

Didn’t Putin just brag about having “the most powerful military in the world”?
First they deploy a carrier to the Med, and promptly lose an airplane from the faulty catapult. How embarrassing.
Now this, though it could be external causes — but the article says “preliminary data indicated that the plane had crashed because of a technical malfunction or a pilot error”.
We have enough of our own failures to be laughing at theirs.
Let’s be wary before we start putting our faith in our own propaganda.

The Alexandrov Ensemble is a wonderful military choir and dance troupe. A very black day for Russia and all friends of Russian music. :-(

There is nothing more beautiful to listen to than an all male Russian choir. The sound of the music is magnificent. This is so sad. Wonder if Trump will weigh in on this or whether Obama will bother to.

The Russians have officially opened criminal investigations, which means they don’t think it was technical fault or pilot error.
Brenan is a Muslim who has been running a program of public disinformation on what Obama gas been doing internationally to magnify the effects of his Arab Spring. Instead of abandoning a failed policy, Obama has doubled down on it.

It is entirely possible that Brennan is aiding Muslim extremist agents inside Russia to commit acts of sabotage because Obama threatened Putin “we can do stuff to you.”.......

Another source told Russian agencies that the possibility of a militant act had been ruled out. The weather had been good.
On RT TV (Russian Today) they have been interviewing the lead singer of the Russian music choir, who was the only singer who was not on the plane, as his wife just had a baby, and with 2 other children, couldn’t cope and had her husband ask if he could stay home. Otherwise he would have been on that plane also. He looks totally freaked out.
