Alaskan Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Don Young are considering overturning President Barack Obama’s bans on new offshore oil drilling.

The lawmakers could introduce legislation overturning Obama’s actions either by authorizing the incoming President-elect Donald Trump to undo any prior offshore drilling bans or simply overturning the specific bans from Obama outright.

“The Congressman believes this decision can be overturned by the incoming Administration and will be encouraging President Trump to do so,” Matt Shuckerow, a spokesman for Young, told The Hill. “In addition, Congressman Young will also pursue legislation to overturn this decision.”

Excellent! If states can pass laws hugely restricting 2nd Amendment rights they can also ignore Federal regulations effecting their territory.

AND when it gets to the SCOTUS, as it will, it will be TRUMPS SCOTUS. Any bets on the outcome?

I’d prefer Congress do it legislatively. I realize they’ve forgotten after eight years of the “phone and the pen”, but they are in charge of legislation, not the President.

The entire concept that an action, any action, will forever stand is just stupid. It should be null and void on January 21st. Trump and congress should make sure everyone understands it.

If individual States have decided to ignore federal law, such as immigration, 2A infringement, drug laws, etc why can’t AK decide to do the same type of thing and the Feds just not have anything to say about such a stance. If it’s good for the goose....

Hey Don and Dan, it’s time to earn those big bucks we pay you. See if you can find the Cow and drag her along. The fed has been screwing Alaskans over for 58 years. Now we may have a chance to undo some of this wrongdoing. GET TO work!!
