Trump Team Begin Constructing Import Tariff Proposal – Globalists and UniParty Members Freak Out…
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | December 22, 2016 | Sundance

As you review this CNN article it is CRITICAL to remember there are two divergent U.S. economies: a Wall Street economy, and a Main Street economy. The DC UniParty Politicians, the Globalists and the MSM will instantaneously conflate the two. Stay sharp.

The direct target of the tariff approach is the enhancement of the Main Street economy. Due to the global nature of Wall Street this immediately puts their financial relationship, their economic risk, in the same place as the risk for foreign countries which would be subjected to the economic leveling of the trade equation.

Again, stay intellectually sharp – this is where we are going to have to fight “the big club“. Understanding how their “trillions of dollars at stake” are placed within the equation is a critical aspect to understanding how the UniParty will attack.

The Tariff ‘wars’ (as the Uniparty will dub them) are going to be, politically, the biggest fireworks display in 25 years. I can’t wait for the rush to re-shore begins once the globalists realize they’ve lost coming out of the gate, by design.

It is absolutely unreasonable for gloBULList Free Traders to expect there to be completely unfettered economic freedom across global/international borders. Actually the Constitution (codifies)provides for tariffs and duties on commerce between the USA and the rest of the world.

There is free and unfettered duty free commerce between the states as regulated by the feds. All 50 states have to follow the same federal commerce regulations.

There is NOTHING in the Constitution providing for economic freedom across international borders, in fact the opposite is true.

Remember George Washington signed the fist tariff act in 1789.

Seriously the Trump team needs to be drafting the first 100 day’s bills now and then polish them later. The first year is the most crucial for passing policies and legislation - the following SEVEN years are spent FIGHTING with the RATS and the GOPee. One of the most successful - at getting done what he wanted - was Lyndon Baines Johnson who ramrodded a whole host of legislation through in the first year. LBJ understood exactly how the District works.

There is no such thing as a one-sided war.

Other countries are waging war against us using our own stupid stupid stupid agreements.

We just need to fight back.

I don’t understand the freak out when we already have 12,000 tariffs on the books and our trade deals have them along with import and export quotas.

As I understand it, the President has authority to issue tariffs unilaterally in certain circumstances, which are present in connection with countries like China and Japan. I haven’t researched the legal issues myself.

It help if there was a link to the article

But as for tariffs this is the big change for Trump versus Republicans in the past... it's not just left it's right that is going to be freaking out about tariffs in fact you'll have it more complaining from the libertarian right. If anything the left will complain less then members of our own right

... but tariff are 100% legitimate thing in the constitution is how the country finances itself originally before income taxes

I believe in free market capitalism but I but I also know it really doesn't exist and we're being raped in trade...

The truth is we have two open border problem... one is open border immigration flooding country with cheap labor to the detriment of the American worker. And the other is open border import flood the country with cheap product also to the detriment of the American worker

a country ceases to be a sovereign country when it quits controlling border and that applies to both people(immigration) and products (trade)...

Wars have been fought over forcing a country to open its markets to an invader products just like Wars have been fought over for some country open its borders to an invading people

So its both people and products that we need border control on
Tariffs are the economic version of “the wall”

And the and one of the main advocates of complete “IN” bound open borders of both people and product is not the liberals but actually the Libertarians

I stressed that our problem is the open “IN” border. Because the other half of this equation is when we practice an open inbound border we don't get the reciprocal “OUT”

LOL...it will be fun. But Americans need to be ready to step up to it too...the ones that are gainfully employed will see lots of prices going up - ironically so that many more people can be gainfully employed. Ironically that sounds similar to Socialism...but even so, I’m sick of our country becoming ‘services’ country and not even capable of repairing our own tractors without going to China for spare parts.

What is the estimated economic impact of the tariffs on the average American consumer?

Higher costs are NEVER absorbed by the producer or wholesaler, they ALWAYS get passed on to the consumer.

Higher purchase prices on goods also burden the consumer with higher taxes in the form of sales taxes.

So I ask again:
What is the estimated economic impact of the tariffs on the average American consumer?

His team needs to be real vocal in warning Americans to re-build their wealth while the Left is in defeat. If that purchase doesn’t show up on your assets sheet, you don’t need it for a few years.

With the tax and Obamacare relief the middle class is about to experience, they need to focus on *investment*, not that the chinese-built Keurig is $30 more at Walmart now with tariffs.
