Take a look at his wiki page. It’s a tour de force of every liberal position ive ever heard of. Luckily as a Baptist, I can laugh at him and walk away. There is no hierarchy beyond the congregation.
The Baptist headquarters concept is little more than buying sunday school books in bulk and cooperating on missionary work.

But the left, in and out of the church, loves to pretend it speaks with authority. It doesn’t.

He is a big old Democrat!

“In the early 1990s, prior to entering the ministry, Moore was an aide to U.S. Representative Gene Taylor of Mississippi, a Democrat.”

He’s a fraud, faux-conservative, former democrat staffer: Russell Moore Called “Open Border Zealot,” Soros Connections Examined BY JD HALL · JANUARY 26, 2016

Julia Hann correctly classified Russell Moore’s immigration views for the publication named after the late Andrew Breitbart.

NR’s effort to take down GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has been billed as a symposium of “conservatives against Trump.” However, that’s undermined by the discovery that several of the contributors NR relied upon to pen their anti-Trump manifesto are supporters of the open borders immigration agenda, which NR itself previously declared would bring about the end American conservatism.

Of course, an end to true conservatism is very likely what the former Democratic staffer, Russell Moore, wants. One would be hard pressed to find an issue on which Moore could rightly be classified as “conservative.” Even his stance on life has been cloaked in so much nuance and ecumenicalism that his hire of Karen Swallow “calling abortion murder is unchristlike” Prior as an ERLC research fellow seems right in line with his ideology. Abortion is certainly Moore’s strongest (and perhaps only) claim to conservatism, but given ERLC representatives like Prior are defending Planned Parenthood from accusations of murder, any estimation of Moore as a conservatism must be made on the grounds of his denominational affiliation alone.

The Breitbart article also points out Russell Moore’s connections to George Soros ...by serving on his immigration panel. [and] the Evangelical Immigration Table [EIT] ran a $250,000 advertising campaign in favor of Sen. Marco Rubio ’s Gang of Eight immigration bill. Even NR reported at the time, “The EIT is a project of the National Immigration Forum, which ... receives a substantial portion of its funding from groups backed by George Soros.”

Sooner or later, folks will wake up and realize the SBC ethics guru is still behaving like a Democratic staffer.

“Wasn’t Moore an open borders advocate - pro illegal immigrant?”

Yes, he was - here’s a sample in his own words:

“There are upwards of 12 million undocumented immigrants in this country right now, and many more in the Latino community who came here legally. If our response to them is to absorb the nativism and bigotry of some elements of society around us, we are showing them a vision of what the Bible calls “the flesh” rather than the Spirit. If our churches ignore the nations around us who are living in our own communities, we will reflect 1970s Bible Belt America rather than the kingdom of God which is made up of those from every tribe, tongue, nation, and language (Rev. 7:9).”

“It is easy to lash out at undocumented immigrants as “law-breakers,” and to cite Romans 13 as reason to simply call for deportation and retribution. But this issue is far more complicated... blah blah blah (more at link)

He’s also against Confederate flags and has “apologized” for slavery, I believe.
