Michigan Electors in Line to Vote for Trump

Electors in Michigan are in line to obey state law and vote for Republican President-elect Donald Trump. The state requires the 16 members of the Electoral College ... to vote according to the results of the Michigan's presidential election,... most state electors were interviewed by The Associated Press, and all of them pledge their support for him regardless.

"We have a process, I'm respecting the process and he won by that process," said Joseph Guzman, an elector and assistant professor at Michigan State University's... "He's my candidate. If there were no rules, I would vote for him, too."

... in Michigan [they] are bound by law to vote for the state winner. If a Michigan elector doesn't vote for that person, they are deemed to have resigned and are replaced. [snip]

Confident Trump will win but concerned about wavering support, one Michigan elector created a website urging Trump supporters to rally electors around the president-elect.... ElectorsforTrump.com to counteract a deluge of missives electors have received from people urging votes for ... Hillary Clinton or another Republican.

"Right now, we're being bombarded with letters and emails and Facebook invitations, telling us to vote for Hillary Clinton, and I don't want to see anyone swayed," he said. "I think Donald Trump earned the right to be president, and at this point, we as members of the Electoral College should vote for Donald."

Hank Fuhs, an elector from Grand Rapids, said he has heard from about 50,000 people, mainly from other states.

"I don't get upset they're doing that — it's their right to express their opinions," he said. "They can ask me all they want, but they don't understand how the process works, nor do they appreciate it. I do hope they all voted."

The AP article was edited for brevity and the scraps edited contain plenty of biased cracks and innuendo.

Michigan's 16 EV are 100% for DJT.

But it’s fun to hear their comments and to realize the tremendous harassment that they have endured. Like many things, that will change.

No future electors should be subjected to the phone calls and threats or people stalking them.

The incoming DOJ needs to files charges against those that have crossed the line and threatened state electors.

"... I do hope they all voted."

Most of them didn't, strange as it sounds. I have examples in my own family. Absolutely devastated that Trump won, in favor of all this garbage, will be devastated again tomorrow when the electoral vote comes in. But, they didn't vote. I've told them they gave up their right to complain when they didn't exercise their right to vote, made no difference. They're being swayed by online friends, FaceBook, YouTube, etc., often people who don't even live in the US. They have no clue how our political system works and neither do those who are influencing them. Scary times, these people are not a small group. They need to be schooled, and are about to be, God willing.

Thanks, not sure why mine dead-ended. And the more of these AP articles I read, the more it sounds like they are trying to stir the pot. Thankful that our states’ electors are holding the line.

Are they kids? if they can’t understand the process, there is much more wrong with their educations.

In two instances, yes. In one instance, no, my older sister who has to my knowledge not been all that interested in politics up until this election.

I liked how a Michigan elector came forward to rightfully note that Californians & New Yorkers [ the majority of the messages he was receiving were from Californians & New Yorkers ] have no right to tell the electors of Michigan how they should vote or who they should vote for President.

The elector from my district has been posting the mail he gets daily (now the PO is bringing it in multiple bins) and it ALL looks like it has return address labels on it. I hope they indict each one with a tampering with federal elections charge.

Exactly they have no business at all trying to dictate another state’s election.

And mail from Canadians? They reflects the eroded brains of leftist loons who have the audacity to believe anyone gives a d@mn what they think.

The mail should be gathered up and responded en masse with a GOP postcard, with dozens of us wearing red MAGA Trump caps - MOONing them.

That’s a response that Moonbats would certainly understand.

Absolutely. CA & NY need to tend to their own issues.

Go, Michigan! (NOT the university)
