Not Fake News: ObamaCare Subsidy Costs Will Jump 30% Next Year
Investor's Business Daily ^ | 12/16/2016 | Staff

Health Reform: Cost overruns are endemic to government health programs, and ObamaCare is turning out to be no different. Not only are its Medicaid expansion costs exploding, skyrocketing premiums are now pushing insurance subsidy costs through the roof.

A new study from the Center for Health and Economy finds that because of the double-digit premium increases across the country, federal spending on ObamaCare's insurance subsidies will shoot up by nearly $10 billion next year

That's because the amount of the subsidy is directly tied to the cost of insurance in any given market.

SO the insurance companies increase premiums and automatically get more tax dollars in their pockets. Sweet.

This is so the rest of us can pay for the parasites, illegals, DC lawyers and the salaries of the 50,000 bureaucrats that stole our healthcare.

Many insurance companies have dropped out of the program and they didn’t do it because they are making money.

I paid $740/month (Aetna) and all I got was a lousy policy. (No subsidy - all out of pocket.)

And the $740 a month doesn’t include the yearly deductible....does it?

I never met my deductible in 2016 or got a co-pay (many visits over 2 months time, with 3 month followups) and my insurance company still left the state.

Aka, the able-bodied parasites get a free ride while the DC lawyers and elites exclude themselves from this massive unconstitutional act.

I retired in 2012. At the SS office applying for my benefits, there were 12 people there. Only 2, myself and another grey haired white guy were of the age where we could get Social Security benefits because we were in our mid sixties. The rest? Glassy eyed punks with tattoos, minority women with babies, trailer park trash...get the picture? At this moment in time at the SS office over 90% were parasites.

The planned failure of Obamacare and the planned switch to single payer has been somewhat derailed.

Honest question to all... We folks are paying crazy fees for coverage, not helping us.... I know many Dr’s, they too are crying poor. Fact is a Dr friend just got laid off, why, hospitals are (in my area anyway) closing the field offices that housed the Primary Care Dr’s. Again, in my area. The same Dr’s just a few years ago they bought out of their Family, individual Practices. Then just where is all this money going???

Congress needs to pay THEIR FAIR SHARE of these taxes.

End their “elite private coverage”, hell put them under the VA hospitals.

Throw the thousands of pages of this financial and medical disaster into several industrial shredders and start over. Who thought that a coven of dunces, headed by Obama, Pelosi and Reid, could come up with a one-size-fits-all health plan that would work and wouldn’t bankrupt the country?

To cover people who were previously not economically insurable. Two groups-- pre-existing conditions and uninsured poor (who are now subsidized) with poor health (think junkies, AIDS, etc). They were the ones who signed up for this, so you suddenly have a pool that has far too many sick people, and not just sick, EXPENSIVELY sick, with fewer healthy people. Result: The death spiral that conservatives predicted-- rates keep going up, driving out relatively healthy people, some of whom become part of the problem by signing up AFTER they get an expensive health problem.

I hope everybody realizes how this is occurring.

The subsidy calculation is supposed cap premium costs at specific percentage of the person's earnings. Premiums go up, salaries don't keep up, eventually people hit the cap. After that the gov eats the rest.

Expanded Medicaid has a schedule to shift costs to the states starting this year, and eventually gets to 10% by 2020. States are already having budgetary issues with the lower percentages that kick in this year. The libs are already trying to blame these cuts on the GOP and a result Trump's election. This turd has been coming down the pipe since they passed the law in 2010.

California has the answer. Insure everybody legally here or not. What could go wrong?

Medi-Cal will soon cover children in the U.S. illegally. The real battle? Getting adults insured

Let me get this straight - Obama(S)care was passed supposedly to eliminate the uninsured while simultaneously LOWERING healthcare costs...

And has accomplished just shifting WHO is uninsured, while simultaneously exacerbating the skyrocketing costs...

what a deal!
