An 18-year-old college student who claimed she was verbally and physically harassed by a group of white, male Trump supporters earlier this month has been arrested and charged with filing a false report. NBC New York reports:
Yasmin Seweid, 18, was charged with filing a false report after she told authorities three men called her a terrorist and chanted “Donald Trump” at her aboard the 23rd Street 4/5/6 subway station on Dec. 1.
DNAinfo is reporting Seweid has admitted to making up the vivid account of harassment:
Investigators who spent significant NYPD resources trying to verify her story were unable to find any witnesses to the incident or video that could corroborate her story, sources said.
Seweid finally recanted Tuesday, saying she misguidedly made up the tale to get attention because she was having issues with her family at home.
The family issues also became part of the story when, a week after she claimed to have been harassed, Seweid disappeared from home. Her disappearance was widely reported as was her reappearance at home two days later.
Seweid claimed the attack took place on the subway December 1st. She said “three white racists” called her a terrorist and tried to pull off her hijab while other passengers stood by and did nothing. The three harassers were said to have repeatedly used Trump’s name during the attack. “Trump America is real and I witnessed it first hand last night,” Seweid wrote in a Facebook post describing the encounter published the next day. Seweid’s story was picked up by the media as one more example of a boom in hate attacks since Trump’s election. The coverage at Slate was typical:
“I heard them talk, but I had my headphones in, I wasn’t really listening, I had a long day. And they came closer and I distinctly heard them saying, ‘Donald Trump,’ ” she told the local CBS affiliate. Although there have been a spate of racist incidents across the United States since the election, this one was particularly shocking because it happened in New York and it seem [sic] no one tried to step in to help Seweid.
Seweid also told the story to a couple of local news outlets. The level of detail she offers is pretty striking in light of her arrest. “I looked at people watch me and they just looked away,” she told ABC 7 New York. “That was the part that really hurt,” she added. “Yeah it sucks they’re Donald Trump supporters, you know, it happens, but I just never expected no one to just stand up and say ‘hey guys, cut it out.'”
So. She’s 18. She can be TRIED as an adult. Good!
What does it say about these minority grievance groups, that they feel the need to make up stories of hsrrassment and discrimination, in order to make a political statement? These events aren’t actually happening; these victimology groups have to stage them.
And what does it say about conservatives, on whom these alleged hateful acts are blamed, that they aren’t really perpetrating these acts????
Note to her and people like her: ‘hey guys, cut it out.’”
Conservatives need to come back with some ‘libel’, ‘slander’ and ‘character assassination’ allegations ... and bring these liars to law.
There are laws on the books against this kind of thing.

I’m still looking for clarification that she was carried out on a stretcher at one point. That wouldn’t be her lie, but it’s certainly a loose end as far as this whole episode goes.
This was on Fox News last night. I will be surprised if it receives one-tenth the MSM attention the original story received, IF IT IS MENTIONED AT ALL.
I never had any doubt that this story was complete and utter horsecrap.
Remember this as a rebuttal to the similar continuing leftist claims. There have indeed been a few legitimate incidents by Trump supporters, or at least people screaming that they're inspired by him, but I'd say the usual ratio (ratios) of 70% proven fake / %20 probably fake but not proven or quietly dropped / 10% real is still a good measure. "No video, no witnesses" is a sure-fire indicator that it's the usual false flag.
As a white, male Trump supporter myself, I’m thinking I’m going to need reparations.
I would settle for not being taxed to support deadbeats I don’t know.
This is the third or fourth high-profile harassment story to have been proven a hoax. It makes you wonder how many of the others were hoaxes as well.
The story was fishy from the start. We were supposed to believe that in a liberal stronghold like New York, there was a group of brazen Trump supporters who taunted a Muslim woman in public with no bystanders doing a thing about it.
They are so sure that conservatives are racists, bigots, homophobic and xenophobic that it never crosses their minds that their fake hate crime won’t be found out. They THINK they are a victims of hate crimes, therefore they are.
Authoritarian liberalism is similar to Islam. The greatest good is the spread and strengthening of the ideology, so faking hate crimes to justify furthering state power / group power is moral just as in Islam murdering five to convert fifty out of fear is moral. And liberals have picked up on Islam’s “words=violence, criticism can be met with violence and/or death” stance.
I’m glad to see this fake hate crimes database has already updated to include this Muslima’s case.
