Anyway, they led off the five-o'clock segment with headline stories about possible responses of the Obama administration to "Russian Cyberactivity," and a story about supposed breaching of the DNC by Russian Hackers; this is the story to which a link is given (see above).
I braced myself for a highly politicized diatribe, anti Trump, making all kinds of conspiratorial connections between DJT and the Russians and Putin. I was really not looking forward to having to sit through this.
But then the story came on. I listened to it very carefully, and I have to say it really came across as a big fat nothingburger. There was literally nothing there. The guy basically said the Russians do this all the time, and they're not the only ones, and its nothing new. No connection to Republicans. No connection to Trump. No connection to Hillary. No connection to Trump's victory over Hillary. I think the interviewer tried to set up a connection to Hillary's loss, but the cyber-"expert" who was being interviewed didn't bite, and the subject went no where.
I hope some of you will give up four minutes of your time to listen to the story, and see if you think I'm right.
I think the gas pressure is leaking out of this story.
NPR is anything BUT “National”.
As with everything, follow the money.
Sounds like NPR does not want Trump to zero out their funding
Is that Russian hackers, or Rushin’ hackers.
A number of the conservative pages, and many of my conservative friends, on Facebook (I know) are having a blast with this story.
They’ve taken Alinsky’s comment about the potency of ridicule to inspired levels, and “The Russians Did It” memes and jokes are proliferating like crazy.
Limbaugh should stop wringing his hands and revert back to his form of 20 years ago and have fun with the silliness of the whole thing.
Bull
Sh!t
If you click on the comments under articles on Fakebook, you’ll see that the DUmasses don’t bother to read the articles, listen to the clips, play the videos, or even argue the merits of evidence.
It’s merely drive-by media fodder to keep the illusion of “undue influence” out there. Headlines drive the narrative.
Yeah who is the cyber security firm and who paid them to have a biased opinion that helps their agenda?... : )
I miss the Rush of 20 years ago.
It was appointment listening then. Now I catch some here and there when I go out to lunch.
Other times I listen ti Wilkow on XM.
I do notice (from 2 IP addresses) that Fakebook isn’t trending news today.
Even when the interface is there, there are no articles (that said, I have dismissed all that were there yesterday so they don’t appear in my ‘trending’ news).
NPR > Not proving to be rational...
The company claims it stops security breaches. Guess DNC, Hillary, Podesta and company should have used it.
I was channel surfing online and I believe it was CNN with a breaking news story that said Putin was personally involved in hacking our election. Anyone else hear this?
You know ...name names.
>90% of penetration attempts on our corporate firewalls appear to originate from China or Russia. That they appear to originate from Russia doesn’t mean they did originate from Russia.
Since the last two DNC heads have been exposed as idiots and the Hillary campaign relied on gmail and homebrewed servers, I’d be surprised if junior Hugh kids in Russia haven’t hacked them.
I caught the story too. He said there were “fingerprints” but didn’t say what they were. The story begged more questions than it answered.
My synopsis of the show: “Yes, the Russians did it because this person from a company that tracks down this sort of stuff says he is convinced that the russians did it because of stuff they found, and we’re NPR so this isn’t fake news.”
YMMV.
