China flew a nuclear-capable bomber over the South China Sea to send a message to President-elect Donald Trump, Fox News reported early Monday.
Two U.S. officials told Fox News the Chinese H-6 bomber flew above the South China Sea and several disputed islands last Thursday.
The response comes after Trump spoke with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen, which broke decades of U.S. protocol. Trump's call was the first by a U.S. president or president-elect since 1979, when the two countries severed ties.
The flight was the first of its kind since March 2015, though other shorter flights have occurred since, officials told Fox News.
The Pentagon was reportedly alerted about the flight on Friday.

Trump should order that at least one of those big boomers be positioned very close to China for his entire Presidency.He should also order the Navy and/or the Air Force to overfly each and every one of the artificial islands they're building twice a day...once during daylight and once at night.
