Yes, she should have resisted his overtures, but I am troubled by this knee-jerk condemnation of her with not a word said about his behavior.

I'm with you. He should have resisted HER overtures. He knew she was writing a book. He exercised poor judgment on several levels.

Thank you - they both are guilty and should be equally condemned. I will say that it was poor judgment on her part to open old wounds by attempting to excuse herself in a national publication.
