When you watch a magic trick being done on video, especially repetitively, you can usually figure out how it was done.
Not this. This guy in incredible.
Take a mid-morning break and enjoy.
So, you and “sodpoodle” are the same person?!
The timing is just too coincidental and this must be a ego pimp for a friend, no?
Good
Thanks bro. We’re being the Humblegunner’s of this thread. :)
Pretty amazing ...
It’s magic.
“Do you believe in magic?”
Until seeing this young man, Bullwinkle was my favorite magician.
That is really good.
I have suspicions as to how I would approach it as someone
that enjoys “sleight of hand”, card manipulation, and card
selection/determination tactics.
Not that I am right, but having read a lot and toyed with
deck manipulations and card determination, I believe I have
an idea as to how to I would reverse engineer the effect to
reproduce it.
I recently bought a new brick of decks, so will break one out and see if my thoughts are at least feasible.
A fantastic presentation and affect.
Kudos to him!
For the record this effect was invented by a very talented magician Dan Harlen I believe its called Card-toon. The other rest is a Michael Ammar Bill transform not sure about the big wad of cash but that might be by John Cornelius
Well, I just noticed something that makes my initial thought wrong already.
But still I will look at the basic idea I had, but focus on only 2 suits instead of 4.
Then I will expand and figure out the 3rd and 4th suit as a unit.
simon was in on the trick. He knew it was the 7 of hearts and acted stunned.
Right about the bill change.
I do 2 $1 bills to a single $2 bill (and back).
A real effective slight at the Thanksgiving dinner table or at
the work coffee pot after you “borrow” a dollar.
Notice that the trick was presented in a way that made it seem like Simon's involvement added a degree of uncertainty to the selection of the card. But what it did was make the selection by the other three panel members completely irrelevant.
Its always great to see that moment of astonishment on peoples face. Its very pure and for a split second nothing else matters.
He is obviously very skilled with his prestidigitation then he does a self working trick where he can concentrate and emphasize the presentation leaving the audience to think gads that guy is amazing with cards.
I've seen magicians do this to other magicians especially with cards. Do all sorts of tough sleights then throw in something that is self working - good times
No - using a confidant or confederate is only for large stage illusions.
Generally, not only is that largely not needed at all if you can manipulate cards and do a bit of slight of hand, but it’s
generally looked down upon with close up effects - especially with card and coin manipulation.
bfl
I just read your profile - I would never have the guts to perform like you.
I *really* enjoy performing a little close-up in front of a couple of friends or relatives though.
The amount of time I sink into practicing an effect even for them is over the top, though.
I just enjoy the resulting look on their face after doing something “impossible.”
He holds up a deck of cards and asks someone in the audience to identify one card in the deck. Someone in the crowd says, "the ten of hearts" or something like that.
The guy picks a card out of the deck and it's the wrong card. He apologizes and picks another one out. It's wrong again. He does this about three more times, feigning humiliation and embarrassment each time.
Finally, he gets angry and gives up on it. He throws the entire deck of cards up in the air, and when they land on the floor every card in the deck that lands face-up is a ten of hearts.. LOL!
