Democrats Send Their Regrets
WSJ ^ | 12/2/16 | Strassel

Regrets? Delaware Sen. Chris Coons has a few—and not too few to mention. At the top of his list is his party’s decision in 2013 to blow up the filibuster for most presidential nominees.

“Many of us will regret that in this Congress,” a dejected Mr. Coons told CNN on Tuesday. “Because it would have been a terrific speed bump, potential emergency brake, to have in our system to slow down the confirmation of extreme nominees.”

Cue Sinatra and “My Way.” That’s how former Senate leader Harry Reid, House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and President Obama ruled for eight years. They planned each charted course, each careful step. Now, they’re not finding it so amusing.

I’d almost be glad to see Biden run against Coons.

The GOP needs to put on some big boy pants and make them REALLY regret it.

We’ll wait and see if the Senate Republicans take advantage of the Democrat changes. The Senate Republicans have a habit of making life hard on themselves and us.

In exactly the same height of hutzpah that a parricide asks for mercy because of being an orphan, the Democrats will be citing ‘fairness’ and ‘tradition’ in their pleas to return to the old rules of filibustering! And, of course, the ‘chattering classes’ and the LEFTIST MSM (but I repeat myself) will ponder thoughtfully and speak judiciously on the merits of that request. This will reach a crescendo for Senator Sessions’ confirmation as Attorney General of the United States and, probably, for several other confirmations as well.

I can’t think of too many more despicable pieces of shit than Harry Reid.

Your insult is uncalled for. Fecal matter is useful as fertilizer for crops and when dried, can be a fuel.

Harry Reid is not nearly as useful as fecal matter.

Mitch McConnell told them that at the time. The Brothers Smug paid no heed. Now, tomorrow is here. Sweet!

If Trump really wanted to heal the country, he'd call on Congress to give the Dems back the filibuster.

BAHAHAHAHAHA! I kill myself...

At least with Trump as Pres the republicans won’t play nice and not use it.

They still disgust me. But at least four 4 years they’ll have to answer to a REAL Leader.

Idiot vs. Marxist. Meanwhile, OP searches high and low for a designated loser. Maybe they’ll borrow one of the DEMs dead voters.
