My wife told he in the early days she was at parties with him in Southie, and he was nothing you would expect today.
Back in the day he would throw stones at the blacks being bussed in, and was really racist. I think he was locked up for that too.. He did come form a rough neighbourhood,and my wife said Southie was all Irish, and Irish heritage back then where no one dared to deal drugs unless it was cleared by whitey Bulger and the older guys.

Very middle class Family that struck gold. Of course himself, his Brother Donnie (Bluebloods show with Tom Selleck and New Kids on The Block Boys group) Mark and Donnies money = the Burger chain for the rest of the extended family.
He’s also a convicted felon who has said he’d like to see all guns taken away but has tried to get his own felony conviction pardoned/expunged so he could become a LAPD reserve officer.
